Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I don't think that'd travel well...
And it *shouldn't* be crisp.

The elves didn't serve it with a sauce.

We were lousy at being a majority party, for sure. Completely forgot what we stood for, if anything. I hope being the minority will bring out some leadership from somewhere...I don't see much of it except for Giuliani, who's not in office, and not conservative in some ways, and our own weirdo, McCain, also not a pure conservative.
My gut feeling is that Bush's failure to win decisively against the "insurgents" in Iraq, combined with the MSM's portrayal of things as being worse than the reality are the main causes of this little debacle. But our guys' failure to stand firmly on "conservative" issues didn't help much either. Bush doesn't make his case often enough either.
I'd like to hear from our guys in Iraq on this; hope they are more ticked than depressed. It's got to be a morale buster, though, since I understand most of them think they're getting it done.

Those wouldn't travel well either...
I think elves reserve those for all-night parties...

I'm beginning to calm down a bit. Rather that get all stressed out about what I fear may happen, I think I will sit back and watch and see what ~does~ happen.
Who knows... it may be more mere entertainment than anything else. At least it won't be boring.

In the light of this gloomy (night) for me (because of te election results) the only good news I received today was that the Shippack Creek in Pennsylvania flows west to east.
What is that good news?
Because I now have a natural barrier with which to protect Jackson's flank once I dam the creek and do not have to strain the improbable trying to figure out an unnatural one.
I still admire the President, and I still adore Rummy!

I'm thinking a run for Irish Creme is in order for this afternoon.

Good point, me too. I am going to enjoy all the moronic MSM questions like asking Bush 'now that the dems are in power will you fire Rummy?' The answer will of course be, 'hahahaha. no. next question.'
To: Overtaxed
Say... maybe you're on to something there.
Lost, South Park, and a whole table full of Irish Car Bombs. That's the nub of a workable plan.
To: Ramius
I'm thinking an MST3K marathon.

We also haven't seen Office Space in awhile...that's a good rebellion kinda flick...in a geeky, twisted sort of way.

The perils of writing true-to-life fiction. ;-) I'm happy for you.
I guess that's part of why I'm doing sci-fi. if the rules don't fit, you make up new ones.
But I'm still stuck on the same scene I've been stuck on for three days...because human nature is the same, no matter the setting.

I see.
Careful not to let Sherman cut under and get south of you. He'll cut you off and all hell will break loose. :-)

By the way, we borrowed Ramius' copy of The Jerk to show you.
