The Hobbit Hole XXXI - Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The recount begins soon...and that's all I have to say about that.

Sorry, bud. We've been there, we feel your pain. That's all I have to say about that.

G'night.

Thanks, Corin.

I'm still up, been reading the live election thread, which is moderately depressing. Good luck with the recount...the one with Gore got him more votes each recount. Therefore, I hope they redo the whole state of VA instead of just the liberal counties like they did here in FL when they were trying to steal the election for the Dem.

I was active in 1964, working for Goldwater in New York!! Tonight is nothing compared to that. After some R & R, it will be time to again 'Fight the good fight!'

Did we loose both house and senate?

If so, I wonder if they'll impeach Bush...hasn't that been the plan?

Thank GOD we're leaving, and it can't be soon enough for me!

I"d love to head out of here. We're second guessing a lot of our near-term plans for the future. MD is going to raise the minimum wage and taxes and that's going to raise the price of everything. I predict defense spending will slow down drastically - and that's another hit to the pocketbook.

Congratulations to the voters of Johnson County for seeing through the soccer haze!! Did you see that the light-rail transit tax passed in Kansas City, those fools!!! I am so depressed, I am just going to turn the computer off when OB leaves for work and not look at it all day, okay, well at least til noon. LSA

I'm not sure what's happening in Montana. They haven't "called" Virginia yet, but we're not likely to make up 8,000 votes through the absentees that are still out.

I don't think they'll try to impeach. If they do, I think the reality is they would forfeit 2008 and we'd regain power.

They will obstruct at every turn. And my heart is sick thinking that they will pull funding from our troops.

As bitter as it is to think about losing Senator Allen. The rape and destruction the RATS will foist upon this country is a far worse consideration.

And...FWIW...I hate Tim Russert.

Sorry Corin.... I know you poured your heart and soul into it. It makes me sick.

The rain falls on the just and the unjust and all that but it sure feels like we got dumped on.

I don't need her dead. I need her to be a manipulative evil wench. Instead, she's being all pathetic and sweet.

Mornin' folkses...

[sip]

Hey Corin... They can't impeach Bush, but what they will do is go nuts with subpoenas and hearings. They'll go fishing for as many resignations as they can get. They don't need results, they just need headlines.

The real winner though, is Al Queda. They've gotta be pretty happy this morning. Osama was right. America won't fight.

So... except for that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?

It's not raining here, so there's that.

"They will obstruct at every turn. And my heart is sick thinking that they will pull funding from our troops."

Raise taxes, too. The new speaker announced it two days ago, I read it on the front page of the WSJ. They'll wish to resume disarming the public, but I doubt they'll have the nerve to do it quite yet. But it is in the cards again. They've been given an opportunity to start moving us leftward again, not that most voters seem to have any idea of that, or what it means. And not that many of our own people aren't drifting slowly in that direction anyway. But the top Dems today are some very radical characters.

I didn't sleep well last night.

But, good morning, Corin, and everyone.

Morning Sam,

The good news is that the GOP is simply better at being the minority party. We never really got the hang of being in charge after 94.

I do feel just sick about what the troops must be thinking. They're going to be expected to take a loss they didn't have to take.
