Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Chum Salmon thrash their way across Highway 101 north of Shelton as the waters of the Skokomish River roll over the road Monday afternoon, November 6, 2006.Is that stretch of road marked "salmon crossing"?
Dark and rainy here all day long. That depresses a lot of the RAT vote, but not the dead or never-existed.
Today is also an official UAW holiday, so "workers" can drink and vote all day long.

Did you read the thread about how rude to him the people were who were waiting in line with him to vote?

Apparently the voting machines in NJ are doing something similar. Folks who are voting for Kean are seeing the machine register the vote for the Dem. I sure hope they are being as diligent as you in getting it fixed!
Welcome back, by the way! How's Jeanne?
We were down your way a couple of weeks ago. We drove Clare back to school in Naples after her Fall Break.

Mmmm. Sounds tasty! BJ's sells grill ready, salmon and catfish in a bourbon marinade. Both are delicious!

Hi Suzi - I have been a stranger havent I? Life - escaping it would be deadly - har har...
How've you been?!
We are still doing the homeschooling thing...we are having success! Still writing on my blog as well as goofing off on more frivolous fanfic...each year I think I will join NaNoWriMo, but when it comes right down to it, I chicken out. Have taken on a couple of historical projects as well for my dad and a friend of his, plus hubby and I are looking to become more involved in a Texas Revolution re-enactment group. Christmas will involve getting things that will form our "participation kit" as well as costumes (1830s).

I can't write at work this year. And I'm taking two graduate courses, so there's that distraction. I'm counting my blessings I've gotten as much done as I have. yeeek!

I remember when he and Ehrlich ran for Gov. One of the debates was held at Morgan State U - a traditionally black college. The fine, upstanding Democrat citizens of Maryland keyed the cars of people who, um, looked Republican and handed out Oreo cookies in Steele's honor. They heckled him on stage. Maryland is full of awful, wretched, nasty people (of all colors, fwiw). So when all those religious and business leaders of color endorsed Steele, my jaw dropped... and so did the temperature in Hell.

Hi Suzi.
Naples is a nice city, isn't it? Growing fast, though. But the GOM is a lovely body of water. I think Miami is even getting too crowded for me...it seems to have reached some sort of critical mass in population. I don't ever remember the traffic being the way it is now, which is unbelievable.
I'm worried about Jeanne, but we'll see how it goes. She's doing OK for the moment, but that's the best I can say. We are making the trip for her to see a guy at John's Hopkins this month.

I'm off to kill some brain cells.
Looks like record turnout in Virginia. And honestly, I couldn't call it either way.
I have ~never~ been this uncertain of anything on election day.
If I can find the keyboard, I'll be back on late tonight.

Been thinking about you all day...
What time do your polls close?
I'm going to vote in about half an hour, when Steve gets home.

And in the good news, not at all election related: I got the job I interviewed for on Friday. I'm so thrilled, I can't tell you. It should be more rewarding, it pays way better, it's with engineers and not accountants... now I just have to get the offer in writing and put in my two weeks' notice at the old place.

Thank you! I'm vey, vey happy about this! Here's hoping the old place doesn't want a full two weeks and I can be done there soon.
