Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Weather is too nice for writing.
Morning walk....done.
New battery in car....done.
Time to evict the chipmunk.
To: Overtaxed
I'm just in a rebellious mood. So I haven't written. Ah well.
I did run out to get kitty litter. And an apple fritter. Productive, aren't I?

Very good of you. ;-)
At least so far Wednesday's forecast just says "a chance of showers". So the end may be in sight!

I demolished part of the planter box and dug up the chipmunk habitat. I was going to dig in some leaves but it's a bit windy to rake leaves.
I might just have to write after all. :)

She did? She has no business being over there!
To: HairOfTheDog
It surprised me - sometimes I'll see her skirt the edge of the fence, but this time she just came barreling up and ran onto the porch. She was gone when I opened the door, of course.

They've been stircrazy with all this rain, running wildly through the house. She's gotta run off some energy.
She ~almost~ got a squirrel this morning. She was sitting by the tree like a porcelain statue and a squirrel walked right up to her. Chased it around till it could find a tree, with me yelling uselessly from the porch.
I can't protect them squirrels when they venture out of the sanctuary.

I just cleared 120,000 words in my novel. (That is nothing compared to what you NaNo writers are attempting to do). If I was finished, my novel would be 342 pages long! That's alot of pages and alot of words!

I'm sure you've done a very good job of self-editing along the way. 50K words is easy when you don't bother with mechanics. :)

Give me a moment, if you don't mind it coming from me, and I can get you one. Be right back.

Easy, maybe not. Easier than writing 50k good words, yup.
Write in going well. I have gotten the action sequence farther than I thought and now I can just have the good guys all locked up together and let them talk.

i'm working on the ninja scene. Ash just told the crew he does Tae KwonDo and Hinderaker asks him if he's a ninja. The answer is no, of course, but that doesn't matter because ninjas are so cool. He's pretty sure they're the only crew with their own ninja and that means the bears won't bother them because bears are scared of ninjas... and on and on and on.
Babbling teenagers are good for the wordcount.

Dearing might work. I had penciled in DeWitt but I need a plain "D" because the young man's initials are going to spell LADY.

Well, the first that comes to mind is Davis (as in Jefferson)...
I could also suggest...
Day
Dickerson
Dickinson (there's a Dickinson County, VA)
Douthat
Dunbar
Dinkle
(no I'm not making that up)
