The Hobbit Hole XXXI - Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It's Friday! Yay!

Nothing like more or less oversleeping before an early morning interview.

Just printed out a copy of the ballot.

Hmmmm......there's not a D running for state representative. Got a choice between Republican and Libertarian.

Corin is at home today (*cough* *cough)

See...Don't I look pale?

Younger sister is on her way to take Nana to the Dr.

(wife is traveling for work, Jr. has my truck at school since his car is at the garage - who has so far found nothing wrong with it).

We really think Nana needs to be admitted so they can figure all of this stuff out. It's more than just the aches and pains.

[741/50,000]

So, there's that.

In this case, I get another chance to vote against a Rino.

Jr. has my truck

That's a nice truck you're letting him borrow!

*Sigh* Doesn't look like the alternative is that much better.

You just have to keep telling yourself the alternative is always better, lesser of two evils and all that.

On the upside, I did get to the Guiliani/Talent rally yesterday. Guiliani is as good a speaker as he comes across in the sound bites.

Glad you're getting a day off, sort of...

Hope all goes well with Nana!

Not to mention the car...yeesh, you get piled on.

Maybe I should stop by the likker store before I decide.

The libertarian is "not against abortion" and I haven't found his stand on guns.

The Rino is pro-abort, anywhere, anytime and anti-gun.

The D's have a candidate listed on their web page but he doesn't show up on my sample ballot.

Well, sister got Nana to the doctor. And the two assistants had to help get her ~in~ to the office. So, at least they see how bad she is.

Mechanic can find nothing wrong with Jr's car. Other than it's old.

And, we're going out with wife's boss and husband tonight to celebrate the fact that they made their sales numbers (second year in a row)...there will be beverages...and we're not paying for it.

So, there's that.

Guess the car news is good news...if a little frustrating.

But I know the feeling. My van isn't super old, but it's old enough now that I realize some of the rattles and other quirks are just...the way it is. It isn't new. It's never going to feel as tight as my Corolla did when I bought it - three years old and with less than 30k on it.

Free beverages sounds like just what the doctor ordered...
