Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

WooHoo! I gots an honest precious! What a way to end a vacation! We've decided to pack and leave tomorrow evening rather than Wednesday morning. We have to take some things over to Gulfport, and we wanted to check out a couple of neighborhoods while we're down here. We're gonna spend tomorrow night with my sister and b-i-l in Ocean Springs. Wed. morning, we'll take the things to Gulfport, check the houses, then start the trip back up to MA. We'll stop in Macon GA on Wed. night, so we can pick up something SirKit bought in the morning on Thursday, then we're headed to Virginia Beach to pick up something else on Friday. We're hoping to make a stop in Richmond. I'll give you a call, Corin, when we're there. Maybe we can get together for a cup of coffee or something!
Then it's home, likely Saturday night or early Sunday morning. We have to get rolling on getting the house finished and sold!

So when yer stayin' up way too late and you get one of them pop-ups that starts talkin' to ya...
...it could end up being one o' them "change yer skivvies" moments.
I'm just sayin' is all...

I hear him when I'm outside. That guy must be gone for a few days, she usually only barks when he's not home.
To: Ramius
Bob was fretting about how much was it costing for the phone time to download the updates... I think we said "it's a local call" a dozen times.
The good news is he'll never figure out the touch pad to get something to open. :~)

Grandma Mazur isn't going hiking, but one ex-special forces man of mystery is. Heh.

Heh. That would have been a better response to the Ford ad than the claptrap they did do, whining about racism and such.
Mornin' folkses...

Heh...yeah. Sunday when he came in after the pollution collection event, I was so sick and feeling so down in general, without the boys around. He came over and just laid his hand on my cheek and I leaned up against him. It was a bit of kindness that I really needed right then. It was only for a minute, but it did make me feel better.
Then he woke up Monday sick. He hasn't been hit with it at hard as me (he's also smart enough to take it easy, not go on a running jaunt in a parade, I guess.)

Happy Birthday, PJ!!
Someone else will have to find an image...I'm too lazy. ;-)
The thread passes out awfully frequently these days...
To: RosieCotton
Heh...NaNo Eve. I've got 10 plot points and not much else.
Title: Winging It
Guess I need to put more words in there...
To: Overtaxed
I am about in that boat. I have a handful of vague characters about 13 plot ideas most of which work together in some ways. I am just trying to figure out an opening scene so I can have something to start with tomorrow.
To: Overtaxed
Come up with a 50k word title, and you're set!
Heh...I just spent a couple of pages describing how Mars, having been terraformed, is now basically inhabited by FReepers, for better or worse. Red planet indeed...
To: TalonDJ
I have a tendency to overuse flashbacks for openers...so I can jump into something exciting.
To: RosieCotton
Let me think... Last year's opened with a jail break. It is always good to jump right into it.
To: RosieCotton
That's not a bad way to open at all...
