New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |

Heh, so...
you finished it up with trusty 'ol handy dandy mulit-plier tool?
you finished it up after recharging (the cordless screwdriver)?
decided to wait until tomorrow nite?
I'll just wait 'till tomorrow. It's almost flush with the hinge.
Well, I pulled up my dead tomato plants today after our frost last night, and put my surviving Geraniums in a pot. They might make it on the porch for the winter :~)
ecurbh raked at least an inch of accumulated fir needles out of the driveway... they clog up the drainage and just get tracked in, I hope it lasts, it looks great.
Tonight we're going down to Bob and Kay's to help get their newly acquired home computer hooked up to the internet. Heh... I wonder if I could ever get Bob interested in Free Republic...
Oh dear...something tells me that would be fascinating, but a bit scary.
Heh...yeah. I have fairly big feet - size 9. But I think she's more like an 11 or 12...
And I've just come to the conclusion that the last three thousand words or so of my story are a simple exercise in self-indulgence and contribute nothing to the plot.
*sigh*
Basically I wasted time getting two minor characters for hitched, even though that does *nothing* to the plot, and they aren't even all that important to the story.
I think I'll go pout.
Er...somehow an extra "for" got in there.
Awww... weddings are never wasted. As the Bard said, "The world must be peopled!"
They're kind of in the middle of saving the world right now, though. Or *a* world, anyhow. And it was just kind of pointless and silly.
But I likes him. So...
Oh well. I guess I can always edit it out later if need be. But I'm realizing most good authors don't need 150k to tell a story, and I'm already at 80k without a clear end in sight. Ungh.
Um... it's science fiction, right? The average SF novel is much closer to 150k than 80k. Most novels on my shelves are at least 400 pages long. Take all the time you need to tell the story.
mmmm-Kay...
I seem to keep wandering off into side stories...
Oh well.
Bob on FR would result in some kind of critical mass developing that would probably result in IAEA sanction.
But he'd get to meet Hans Brix. So there's that.
[sigh]
I'm really discouraged about the firefighting in California that's costing American lives. I'm sorry, but it just isn't worth the loss of another American life. We just keep wasting lives in the same quagmire, year after year. It was a Californian that started it. If Californians don't care about California, why should we?
It's time to get out. Let them fight their own fires.
You know...whichever neighborhood dog it is that's barking (not ours) has been going for about four days straight. It used to shut up once in awhile, but not this week. I'm amazed it has any voice left.
Have you been hearing it from there? Maybe I just need to stop focusing on it so much...gah! I *like* dogs, and I still want to go sever its vocal cords.
Our 18 yr old daughter and her friends still giggle when 'pants' are mentioned, since that's what the Brits call underwear. They just decided one day it was funny.
Ain't it wonderful how married couples share things with one another? ;o)
Good for 'not Valerie'!
Which Evanovitch character? I love Grandma Mazur!
Did he have a response for that?
