Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

We've been havin' trees cut down. (Nana's had fun watching the squirrels get mad) Our tree guy is mostly finished. He just has to clear up the rest of the debris and grind the stumps.

Two of these trees would have taken out the nayber's house (yep the fence naybers) if they had fallen.

Last night he calls and said "there's debris in the woods where we drag the leaves from our yard."

It ain't his land. It ain't my land.

And it ain't my problem.

Good morning!

Our power's been out all morning...just came back on. Hmph! Don't know why.

Woke up to find Steve standing over me, shaking me, holding a match. Said he couldn't find the candles. I said "You got any more matches?" and he handed me the packet. I lit one, walked in the living room and lit the lamp.

LOL!!

Sounds like a great situation...

I have a feeling Cisco's going to occupy himself today digging up all the bulbs I put in yesterday.

Ungh.

I'd put a fence around 'em!

Well, I'm ready. Be out there in 3 minutes.

Lacrosse is getting big in high schools these days. I'd never heard of it before my brother went to the AF Academy in the late 1960's and began playing it. He loved it! His #2 son played in high school in the late 90's, and then, in college. The high schools in MA almost all have lacross teams now.

It makes me think of Jai Lai with longer sticks on the baskets, but without the wagering. ;o)

Find some old shoes at the thrift store and wear then a couple of times to get your scents on them, then let the puppies 'find' them. They'll be thrilled, and maybe they'll leave your good ones alone.

When Zulu was young, she ate ~one~ of every pair of shoes I had... never a pair. :~)

I may have seen her before, but I'm not sure. I'll have to see if there are any DVD's on Netflix.

What I need today...

"Time Warp" from Rocky Horror either in WAV format or a file I can convert to WAV format (and probably an understanding of whether or not I have the ability to do that).

Discuss...

We spent the night with a good friend in Birmingham, AL on Saturday, on our way back from picking up a utility trailer. He has 30 guitars, and 2 bass fiddles! When I asked him how many he actually played, he said "All of them"!

He works full time as the manager of the Human Resources dept at a big bank, but in his spare time plays in a band. He said he's decided that his favorite type of guitar is an arch-top, instead of a flat top, like SirKit's Martin. He introduced us, by way of CD and DVD, to a guitarist named Tommy Emmanuel who is just an OUTSTANDING musician! He creates sounds with his guitar that seem completely impossible for one person to do! He was a member of the Australian rock band, Air Supply, in the 80's. Mike heard him at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Convention this year, and was stunned at the man's abiluty with the guitar. SirKit watched the DVD, and was trying to figure out how to recreate the sounds.

Never mind. I found the file.

Even better than I thought. The whole thing in wav format.

If this project ~works~ I'll post a link.
