Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

So I'm running around trying to get everything done!

We all enjoyed the South Park, it was close to the WoW mark, though they had to throw the disgusting poop sequence in there. At first, Joseph kept stopping the recording to provide commentary. SirKit finally told him to hold his comments until the end; he kept losing the sequence with Joseph's interruptions! LOL!

There are a variety of products like
this one that are highly effective against thumb sucking. Something like this cured me of thumb sucking around age 11 ;-P

Super bored. And I just got it clarified that the mandatory overtime is still in effect. Which means I need to be here a good while still :P
What is the dinner plan?
To: TalonDJ
Dinner plan is whatever I figure out to do with the chicken, unless you have a different suggestion. We have lots of veggies and side options so it's just a matter of what to do with the chicken.
Sorry you have to work more. Ungh. Maybe I do not want to get that job at your company after all :-)

Nah, the overtime thing is only for this one department (not the one that talked to you) and only because we can't seem to hire enough people.

I'm being bad and writing at work.
So far in the last few days I've managed to kill off the entire population of a planet and render it uninhabitable yet undestroyable for several decades, gave the bad guys some series weapons, and landed the hero in prison for a good spell. Oh, and he thinks his best friend is out to destroy the universe, which makes him understandably depressed.

I had the luxury of about an hour of a nap in the hotel just now and was awakened to a very, uh, educating, song (If that's what they're calling this crap these days) blaring out of a car stereo. "Move, B****, get out the way. Get out the way, B****, Get out the way" Over and over and over again.
I think at 0300 tomorrow, they might regret that.

Oh and who is keeping the list of nano-oddities.
FWIW, I think I can work ninja's in.

Why would he regret it at 0300?
That was Mr. Beepy's prime time for blasting such stuff.
To: Lil'freeper
I still haven't set my mind on a plot for NaNo. In some ways, I'm tempted to just cheat and not really do it this year - instead just try to finish the story I'm working on.
But I have a couple of plots I can start on. Actual sort of serious ones, for a change - ideas I've had in mind for awhile but haven't figured out a good way to dive in. Might be a good exercise and a way to get one or the other off the ground so I can really write it in the next six months or so.
To: RosieCotton
Mr. Beepy's got nothing on Judy Garland singing "Good Morning!"

NaNo... mmmm...
I need to work on my plot. I figured out how space ships working by magic makes sense. I figured out how people without magic can invade people who have magic. But the logic behind how you can use magic against an anti-magic weapon is a bit iffy. I think I will just use the "ancientEvilSpiritThingsofDOOOOOM" plot device.

Think about the Goblet of Fire. They just figured out how to use magic indirectly to counter the anti devices. Like like using levitation to drop a rock on someone that is immune to direct magic effects or something similar. They found some avenue of attack that gets around things and the people that are doing the fighting have developed their abilities in that area abnormally high in secret or something. For example they could be really good at summoning gale force winds and the wind, once summoned is not magic, just wind.
