The Hobbit Hole XXXI - Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh...I brought that over to Hair and Ecurbh's the other day...not sure what they thought of it. ;-)

That movie was the first time I'd ever seen Gerard Butler. And he's ear candy as well as eye candy. Mmm...such a lovely voice and accent! *swoon*

Whew! What a day! We went to the car show and got so inspired that we came home and started working on the Beetle...We got the tires off all the rims except one. One of the tires was FULL OF WATER!! That water has got to have been in there since we pulled the car out of the field! It was rusty, but not terrible. Some sanding and some encapsulator should fix it right up.

The decision was made to purchase new tires and one new floor pan for now. Steve thinks the passenger side pan is ok for the time being. The driver's side pan was rusted away and was removed a while back...in April, I believe.

So that will get our car in a position to be sat in and at lease rolled around! Heh heh!

The current task then is to get the three rims that are not prepared all ready to go and get tires on them. That's going to be my job while Steve works on replacing the pan.

I'm exhausted...I was absolutely filthy a bit ago! I'll post pictures in my blog tomorrow if I can sneak it in.

(I took a bar stool out and put it in the car where the driver's side floor pan is missing...Steve took a picture of me *sitting* in my Bug!)

Good Morning All. It has been a while since we heard about the bug. Nothing like a car show to demonstrate what can be done. Good Luck on your project.

What happened to the sun? Gypsygirl enjoyed the dog park, not many others were there. Several folks came in, took one lap around the track with their dogs and then left, hmmmmm.

Anyone seen 'Flyboys' yet? Looks good from the trailer we watched. Last good one on WWI air I recall was 'Blue Max', and that's been a few years back.

Our cats walk around on the bed but they don't make noise so they don't interfere with sleeping.

Mmm... pretty day here. We missed the 10 o'clock service so we'll make the noon one.

Here it was the dog...the cats sleep in happily, but he didn't want to go out late last night and he was almost dancing with his legs crossed, so I had to get up.

Made myself crepes for breakfast. Now I've got time to write a bit before church.

Breakfast, hmm? Maybe I should do that. Only I don't think we have anything. I'm a lousy wife I guess.

I wanted pancakes, but had no syrup. I did, however, have canned whipped cream and marmalade.

Then after I already had the stove heating and the batter mostly mixed, I realized I didn't have any baking powder. No baking soda, either. So I thinned the batter and spread them as much as possible when pouring into the pan.

Turned out OK. But they were basically crepes whateverIhaveinthefridge rather than anything fancy. ;-)

Morning!

Got the walk in and took a look at the windows in the back. One of them needs a few inches of glazing and all need caulking. Guess I'll get to it sometime this week.

Morning - winterizing during good weather is a good thing. Sun shining and warming up nicely. Old Glory is waving proudly.

Hope my internet connection holds out. I'm streaming baseball video and two race audios at the same time.

SirKit asked about Blue Max the other night. I'm gonna see if Netflix has it. We're looking forward to The Guardian. It comes out next weekend, but we're gonna wait a couple of weeks until we're down in AL for SirKit's family's reunion to see it with his siblings.

Isn't tht why crepes were invented, so that anything that was left over, sweet or savory, could get rolled up in them?

I need to figure out what I'm fixing for dinner. There's chicken that could be used... or I could go down the street to the store. Hmm.

I could make those but then we won't have lunch stuff tomorrow. But you could fend for yourself or I could make some chicken salad for sandwiches if that sounded good to you.

Pancakes would certainly be easy...
