The Hobbit Hole XXXI - Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Maybe one of them owed her a favor? Or maybe she's blackmailing him for something and had set up one of those "if anything happens to me, 'X'happens" kind of thing.

Heh...yeah, I think it'll be something like that. Yet another bad guy in the wings to take out the first bad guy if he doesn't stick with the agreement.

The CSI was a good one, wasn't it? We just got finished watching it because we were working late painting the front of the house, then Clare called, then we went to Lowe's. Didn't even have supper until almost 11!

Just don't bother with the re-make of the Pink Panther. Watch the old ones with Peter Sellers. Absolutely perfect comedy!

Hmm.... it's getting close to time for NaNoWriMo. I should break out my pom-poms and start cheerleading.

We've started our fall garden...a bit late, actually but we had that septic to deal with and such!

Anyway, we're taking out a lot of the old and prepping the beds...planted 132 radishes.

Getting ready to plant spinach too...the bed is ready, just need to buy some seed.

Really. Shouldn't you keep that sort of thing at home?

I want to plant spinach but I think the rabbits will eat it all.

I started some collards, kale, and turnip indoors and I'm thinking about putting them in pots. The rabbits don't seem to find things in pots, but the squirrels sure like to dig it up.

I suppose I should throw some grass seed out on the bare spots in the lawn....and the window project needs to be finished.

Yep, I'm looking forward to planting turnips and collards again. My bunny is gone...haven't seen little Fiver in weeks.

I wish I could raise some meat chickens...but can't find a place that can just get me four.

Are there any hatcheries between your house and mine? Hmmm...

Hey...I'm thinking we'll go to Kilkenny and eat Irish food before the concert and then Sat. night after the festival, we'll go eat at Ted's Escondido Cafe. It's a mexican restaurant, but ungodly expensive (imo). The dips that they serve "while you wait" are fantastic though...you know, the salsa and chips and tortillas? The tortillas are made fresh right there (can see 'em being made.)

Anyway, the dips and stuff are free if you order an entree, but if you don't they charge you oh, $3 or so...so you can't just go in and get the free dips and just order a soda or something. So that's what I want to do, if that's ok with you...just go to teds and order the dips and a beverage! It's cheap and really really good! One of the dips is a queso and one is a habenero dip called atomic bomb.

I can't do this with Steve because he's on the low carb diet and what would we do with the jedis?

I'm using you to do stuff that I want to do and can't normally! LOL!!

Sounds good. I'm planning on arriving Friday afternoon maybe 1-2ish. I have to take Miss Cat to the vet's for boarding and they don't open until 7:30.

I am at home... haven't got much better to do than wave pompoms!

Well, laundry. And I'm going to tackle assembling the kitchen cart we just got as soon as my caffeine kicks in. The kitchen is a little short on counterspace and I needed something between the stove and the counter where there's about a three foot gap right now. Once that's done I'll have a really functional kitchen space.

I'll have turkey sandwich fixin's available when you get here, if that's ok...what kind of bread do you like?

I figure on Saturday morning, late, we'll have coffee and my famous yeast-risen Belgian waffles. Then go to the festival, then go to Teds, then come home, play whistles (Steve is taking the jedis to a hotel with an indoor swimming pool that night) and enjoy whatever we might have purchased at the festival, watch a move.

Heh heh! I'm pretty excited...I'm having company!
