Bargain Hut (Post OUTSTANDING Current Retail Bargains In This Thread)
Self | September 3, 2006 | PJ-Comix

Posted on 09/03/2006 4:30:21 PM PDT by PJ-Comix

I was just at Publix supermarket here in Florida and picked up a package National Deli Premium Beef Franks. They are $1.99 but with the yellow Dollar Off coupon right on the package, it comes out to only 99 cents per package. This deal has been going on for about 3 weeks. Okay, National Deli might not be the best hot dogs out there but they are better than most so it is a very good bargain.

Which brings me to the REAL purpose of this Bargain Hut thread. I would like to see it as a running thread in which Freepers post retail bargains they find at grocery stores or department stores plus their geographical location. This would provide a great benefit since it would allow us to quickly find the latest bargains. And when I say bargain, I mean REAL bargains. Not lame 10% off stuff.

So go ahead and post any retail bargains you find in this thread. Then check back frequently to easily find the good deals. In my own case I would love for someone to keep us updated on the latest Albertson's meat deals. They often have good Buy One, Get One Free meat packs but since Publix is nearer to me, I am often too lazy to check it out at Albertson's.

It wasn't a bargain since it cost about the same as the rest of their ice creams but Carvel once had Key Lime flavored ice cream here in South Florida. It was TERRIFIC. Unfortunately I believe they discontinued that flavor.

Anybody know of good Las Vegas vacation bargains? Including airfare, hotel, gambling chips, etc.?

I keep an eye on Fatwallet.com for bargains (mostly on the technical side of the world...) Like this one from their hot deals board...

Poser 5 is a fully featured 3D character morphing/rendering/animating program for anyone who wants to get into or expand their capabilities in 3D art.

While this version has been supplanted by Poser 6, it is still a very powerful program, and even now retails for $79.95!

This is being offered through Content Paradise, the official retail site for Poser software. The offer expires at midnight on 9/4/06

You must register on the Content Paradise site to access this offer. (Note: Understandably, their servers are VERY overloaded right now, so multiple tries may be required to access the site)

The offer link:

The main site link

Happy Rendering!

How come corn ain't ten for a dollar like usual this time of year? 3 fer a buck is the best I've seen.

Not a real summer unless you can pig out on corn on the cob!

Farmer's markets has them for about 10 for a buck. After hurricane Katrina last year some guy came around and was selling avocados for just 25 cents each. BIG avocados. The reason was so many were blown off the trees that they had to unload them cheap.

This time of year, I usually buy at least about a dozen and a half, rinse them off good, and freeze them right in the husks.

Good for four or five months. Corn on the cob with Christmas dinner!

Then, early in the spring, we start getting the south american stuff. In general, I'm not a great supporter of importing stuff... but seasonal food is another thing, esp with my love for asparagus, etc.

Yes, but you have to factor in the cost of the medical treatment for the bedbug bites you are sure to get there... ;)

Is there a bargain hunters' ping list? I'd subscribe to that in an instant. Thanks for the thread.

Someone can do a ping list if they want. I'm sort of busy with the DUmmie FUnnies PING list (biggest on the FR). BTW, no real need for a Ping list if folks constantly check in for bargains or to post bargains.

Okay. I was just at Publix and that National Deli hot dog deal is still on. Oh, and they have Oscar Meyer 1 lb packs of sliced turkey. Two for $2.99.

Is anybody out there? Does anybody CARE??? Post those bargains HERE.

Got another bargain for folks...

http://music.yahoo.com/mastercard

Buy one year with your mastercard, get the second year free. This works for either the standard Yahoo Music Engine (1 million songs) OR YME with Yahoo Music To Go which will play on any PlaysForSure device (including Dell Axims and other Windows Mobile 5 devices.)

$59.99 a year, or $119.99 a year with the ToGo addon version. That works out to $2.50 a month for streaming/play on your computer, or $5 a month for streaming/play on your computer and on your iRiver, Creative, WM5, etc, for a million songs.

This is known as subscription music, it will not work on your ipod unless you buy the songs (.79 cents each for burning onto various devices/CDs.) You'll also get better quality - 192k vs 128k.

DOUBLE COUPONS here in Florida like we had in Los Angeles. Do they still have double coupons out there?

Yep..but not all markets honor them. Our local Ralph's does, though - makes some stuff pretty darned cheap.

Von's has started, for the last year or so, something called "Rancher's Reserve" beef - it's only select grade, but they age it so in reality it's better than the choice at any of the other supermarkets. Every couple of months, they'll run ads for N.Y. Strips or Porterhouse for as little as $2.99 a pound - that's when we stock up and I fire up the Weber.

Thanks for the ping, via the Dummie thread, by the way!

Ross for Less

We refer to that place as "Ross Mess for Less"...there are two of 'em locally and they're both pigstys. You'd swear they have somebody come in right before they open to give 'em that "lived in" look.....kinda like WalMart.

Bought a laptop (office depot)...last one for $649.00 (sale price), will have a $200 rebate, and they gave me 10% off for the display model. Which made it $384 for this Toshiba:

# 512MB of PC2-4200 DDR2 SDRAM, upgradable to 2.0GB
# 80GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA (SATA) hard drive
# DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive
# PC Card slot: supports 1 PC Card Type II, PCMCIA R2.01, PC Card16, CardBus
# Toshiba Express Media Player, for playing DVDs and CDs without booting up
# Atheros 802.11b/g wireless LAN
# 10/100Base-T Ethernet port
# 56K V.92 software modem
# 3 USB 2.0 ports
# 1 S-video out port

Now the display model thing might bug some people...not me!

The Crazy Buffet in Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach has all you can eat sushi (and a chocolate fountain for not just the KommieKos Kids to enjoy). Here are coupons, one for 10% off lunch and the other for $10.00 off min of $50.00 for dinner.
