MAN DEAD AFTER ARGUMENT AT NEEDVILLE (TEXAS) COCK FIGHT

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting Saturday night in Needville that happened as more than 100 people gathered to watch a cock fight. The shooting took place at about 10:07 p.m. in the 6600 block of Beard Road when some of the spectators apparently had an argument over who won the fight, authorities said. Jose Alfredo Morales, 32, of Los Fresno was shot in the back area and pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, Jose Ramon Jauregue, 23, of Corpus Christi, suffered gunshot wounds to the leg and abdomen area and was transported by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he remains in stable condition.
The two victims had apparently been trying to flee the area when they were shot by a suspect known only as "Rudy." He was seen leaving the scene in a late model black Chevrolet Silverado and is described as a Hispanic male, late 20's, short black hair, muscular build, 5 feet, 11 inches and 220 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans and has a tattoo on his right bicep of an eagle perched on a cactus with a snake in its mouth, as displayed on the Mexico Flag. While searching the area, authorities found four injured birds with razors that had to be put down and eight additional birds in cages that were turned over to Fort Bend Animal Control. Investigators are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts or identity of Rudy to please call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers 281-342-TIPS.
