We hope to both encourage SCI FI to reverse its decision (ratings talk), and prove to a potential future network or film partner that SG-1 still has a strong audience.
There are loads of other ways to volunteer, including mailing letters on behalf of other fans, handing out flyers, and more. Visit SaveStargateSG1.com to join. There are still stories left to be told!
Stargate ping
Where is Mr. Spock?
They should not cancel this. I like SG1. Bad move, just like when Firefly was axed.
Maybe SciFi Channel can add EWC2 as a replacement. [/s]
[What nutso exec at NBC made the decision to add EWC to the SciFi Channel to being with? No wonder NBC ranks lower than WB and UPN.]
Never heard of it.
The original movie introduced a neat idea. Stargate SG1 then grabbed the baton, stumbled and messed up a potentially great series. I'm surprised it lasted this long.
Plus show B movies or movies that are not sci-fi on the sci-fi channel..
SG1 has run its course, it would be torture to keep dragging it out. Take whatever interesting is left and transfer it to Atlantis, especially Claudia Black.
I disagree. I think it was in a funk for a season, and now its starting to get interesting again. However, I do think they should rename it Stargate Command instead, since the era of the original SG-1 is over.
NBC is trying to kill the sci-fi channel. Why else would they put that frackin fake rassling on?
What really got me is they brought in the cool and crazy Valla, then proceded to make her character fairly normal.
You're right, they have tamed her down a lot. I was hoping they would tame her down just a little, but they've gone too far.
Wouldn't be the same without it. The missing ingredient in other shows is humor, starkly absent in another otherwise fine SF program that makes me doze off --- Battlestar Galactica.
Obviously millions of SG-1 fans disagree, based strictly on longevity and numbers...
Nothing is as big a blunder as wrestling in any form.
If you got 10 intelligent, imaginative, informed adults and asked them to devise the best way, guaranteed, to destroy a network, I can't think of a more perfect way...
Depends on what brand of wrestling you've got and where wrestling is in its popularity cycle. For a while Monday Night Raw on TNT was getting rating up there with Monday Night Football on ABC. But that was a while ago and wrestling seems to be on a down cycle again. If it was in an up cycle right now it would make a certain level of sense, a long well rated program in which you can stick lots and lots of commercials for other shows on the same channel and maybe bleed some audience. Still wierd for a channel that specializes in a genre never really associated with wrestling, but one should never completely scoff at ratings and self promotion.
