Updated: 18 minutes ago BOULDER, Colo. - Prosecutors abruptly dropped their case against John Mark Karr in the slaying of JonBenet Ramsey on Monday, saying DNA tests failed to put him at the crime scene despite his repeated insistence he killed the 6-year-old beauty queen.
The move came just a week and a half after the 41-year-old schoolteacher was arrested in Thailand and put on a plane to the U.S. in what was regarded as a remarkable break in the decade-old murder mystery that had cast suspicion on JonBenet's parents.
Karr, 41, will be held in custody by the Boulder County sheriff's office pending extradition to Sonoma County, Calif., to face child pornography charges dating to 2001. Earlier in the day, the sheriff's department announced Karr had been released.

Has anyone accused this guy, anywhere, of actually touching a kid inappropriately? Apparently he's alleged to have a stash of child porn - that's bad, obviously. But has he ever been accused of a concrete case of molestation?

No. Not to my knowledge. And now it DOES appear that he will be held on the California porn charges. They've recanted on that on the news.
I don't think so. I think he's just wants to be a girl, no murder one, and is definitely interested in young stuff.
I've speculated on other threads that Karr was the excuse to get John Ramsey on the stand, I guess I was wrong. I didn't think the Boulder authorities wanted to look like asses a second time, I suppose I was dead wrong about that...
As far as I'm concerned, anyone who deliberately has child porn deserves a quick injection of lead between the eyes. They're no better than child rapists, in my opinion.
