We the poets of the Lair, thank all who support us.

We hope to be here a long time, singing our songs
riding the stars, writing our own visions, and best of all,
loving all who continue to lurk and visit here over the years.

We write of love, we write of war,
we write of sorrow,
we write of Knights and Kingdoms from before,
we write of drawing down the moon,
scarlet robes, and gossamer, kismet, serendipity, serenity,
and days of grace, filled with woodsy space
ancestors wrinkled ragged and bold
horror stories from our own past
hauntings from the bog with screaming banshee
voices on the wind
and of the wind loud and sassy
tinkling brass, silvered nights with star strewn paths.
We write songs of happiness, songs of grief
songs of anger and relief.

Our poets take pictures along their walk
post them here for all of us to gawk
and ohh and aw about the mystery of another land.

With all of life's hard times, pushes and shoves
we poets remain above the fray to write
in the sunlight of another new day,
and take a chance on a little romance
in The Land of Glen Gaul Way.
And know that in the dead of night,
WayzataJohnn will be stopping by to steam up the Lair
with a senusous poem, or tell a hair raising tale from
his life as an Navy Vet, a Cowboy, a Husband, and
best of all a very good friend of all of us here.

Evening to you starbase!

Thanks for the tips on leg cramp treatment.

Stretching is one I should do. The wine is not an option for me. I do use a lot of dairy products, drinking milk is something I have always done.

Hope you had a pleasant day.

Yes things are going well here in Junta Land. If you read more of those links, many people say to stop using all dairy products.

I was surprised by the suggestion of getting the quinine in tonic water, that would be a nasty tasting alternative. Here in Thailand they sell lots of "soda water", which is just carbonated water, it's great in this hot climate, refreshing but more interesting than just water. I tried a true tonic water one day, but just spit it out.

It's bitter, bitter!

But, but, I am a farm girl!! We hear we need milk for strong bones and teeth. Old habits die hard.

I would like to drink herbal teas, I love raspberry, however, due to the blood thinner I have to take, I cannot, herbal teas thin the blood.

As a child I suffered very severe leg pains at night, seems to be a life long condition for me. Back then they called then "growing pains." Hurt like mad.

On another note, our weather is much cooler now temps in the 50s today with cloudy, overcast skies. Normal for this area. It gets dark very early now.

I'll check out the link you posted.

Ah thank you, and to you returned blessings.

Did you have any luck yesterday fishing??

BTW can you see the graphics today??

Thank you. No, I didn't get out yesterday. Neither my son nor my nephew wanted to go, and driving that far for two fish doesn't make much economical sense with gas so high. Instead I went to the athletic club and did a cardio workout. Then spent the day with my granddaughter, and preparing earlier caught trout fillets for smoking today.

So far I seem to be able to see the graphics fine.

My granddaughters are big girls now, but we had a lot of fun growing up together. LOL One left in high school.

Regarding the graphics, I bet it's the computer at your work place, it must be set to block images. A quick check on your brower's preferences would show if show all graphics option is turned on.

My granddaghter is seven and the light of my life (after my wife of course;o).

The computer I'm using is the same one at work or at home - It's a laptop the school district bought for me. Their server might have some blocks on it. At home I'm not attached to their server.

Okay, that's the solution then. I know, I've read, where you've had alarms go off. ;)

Yeah, Kathy sent me a cute teddy bear graphic which wreaked havoc with the "safety" software they use. I've had the "alarm" go off while doing research on Autism and ADHD. Funny how certain words are screened out.

Thought of the Day

Queen Elizabeth I of England said, "A fool too
late bewares when all the peril is past."

Today is Monday, Oct. 2, the 275th day of 2006 with 90 to
follow. This is Yom Kippur. The moon is waxing. The morning
stars are Venus and Saturn. The evening stars are Mercury,
Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Mars and Pluto.

Some Political Filk Songs

(which I wrote for the Freepathon thread)

1
Song sung blue,
every DUer knows'em,
Moonbat, too,
Liberal gardens grows'em.
Me and you are subject to the Blues now and then,
then the Viking Kitties zot the troll,
and we laugh them out again,
we laugh them out again.

Song sung blue
They're weeping like a willow,
Think Karl Rove
is sleeping on their pillow,
Funny thing, they think it's true, all the lies that they tell,
Wishing bad upon us all when we won't buy what they sell,
we won't buy what they sell.

Song sung blue,
every DUer knows'em,
Moonbat, too,
Liberal gardens grows'em.
Me and you are subject to the Blues now and then,
then the Viking Kitties zot the troll,
and we laugh them out again,
we laugh them out again.

2
Do you wanna feel good,
change the world today?
Change the world today?
Wanna have some fun,
Send those Blues away?
DU Blues away?
Are you feelin' sad
Cause the world's gone mad - Here's the cure
Now here's the cure
Do the Freepathon dance;
Do the Freepathon dance
make you happy for sure.

Reach out your hands and hit your keyboard.
Make all those blue electrons fly.
Come on and get your donation ready.
Just get your mouse, and don't be shy.

(to the tune of the Chicken Dance)

3
Blue, blue whine you make me feel so fine,
you keep me laughing all of the time,
Blue, blue whine, you make me feel so grand,
like a million dollars when they cry with the band,
Blue blue whine you can't make me feel too sad
When the moonbats start crying, I cannot make me feel bad
Blue, blue whine you make me feel so fine,
When they can't figure out why they lose all the time...

4

Freedom is a flame that's rare and clear
From the morning into night
From the morning into night,
that is why,
that is why
We come to learn the truth.

Freedom is a need that calls the soul
Although many would steal it away
Although many would steal it away,
That is why
That is why
We stand together in this place.

Freedom is a word we should rarely use
without thinking of the cost,
without thinking of the cost,
that is why,
that is why
Let us cherish it today.

(apologies to Donovan)
