Happy 3rd Anniversary Dragonflies' Lair and Poets
Our Poets

We the poets of the Lair, thank all who support us.
We hope to be here a long time, singing our songs riding the stars, writing our own visions, and best of all, loving all who continue to lurk and visit here over the years.
We write of love, we write of war, we write of sorrow, we write of Knights and Kingdoms from before, we write of drawing down the moon, scarlet robes, and gossamer, kismet, serendipity, serenity, and days of grace, filled with woodsy space ancestors wrinkled ragged and bold horror stories from our own past hauntings from the bog with screaming banshee voices on the wind and of the wind loud and sassy tinkling brass, silvered nights with star strewn paths. We write songs of happiness, songs of grief songs of anger and relief.
Our poets take pictures along their walk post them here for all of us to gawk and ohh and aw about the mystery of another land.
With all of life's hard times, pushes and shoves we poets remain above the fray to write in the sunlight of another new day, and take a chance on a little romance in The Land of Glen Gaul Way. And know that in the dead of night, WayzataJohnn will be stopping by to steam up the Lair with a senusous poem, or tell a hair raising tale from his life as an Navy Vet, a Cowboy, a Husband, and best of all a very good friend of all of us here.

Contemplating Camelot's Ruin
Let it be told again, how there it stood,
There by the Camel's fabled stream
There the keep arose, a fortress strong,
Strong enough to hold a dream
Fifteen hundred years or more
Glimmering like a chimera in the telling,
A place where one man strived to stand tall
Against the darkness gathering, swelling
To wipe away the light that was,
And bravely through that twilight strode the Bear,
And for a season, he succeeded,
And planted the dream that lingers there.
And yet in the end, the darkness called his name,
Blood fighting blood, love betrayed,
Are what we remember best of what he wrought,
except the lone promise made
When carried off to Avalon
for healing beyond time and space
on that fair faerie isle,
to return again - Arthur, lo, quicken your pace!

Oh exquisite poetry, Knitting, thank you very much.
So rich in imagery.
To: All
Author Salman Rushdie said, "Literature is the
one place in any society where, within the
secrecy of our own heads, we can hear voices
talking about everything in every possible way."
Today is Monday, Aug. 28, the 240th day of 2006 with 125 to
follow. The moon is waxing. The morning stars are Saturn,
Mercury, Venus and Uranus. The evening stars are Neptune,
Mars, Jupiter and Pluto.

Well, for goodness sake, Darksheare, nice to see you!
What you working at if you don't mind my asking.
To: bentfeather
Security work, nothing spectacular.
I end up being able to only lurk, maybe post one or two posts and then wander off.
*sigh*

Well, a job is a job.
How's your weather today, it is so clammy here today my skin feels cold. Honestly, I can't tolerate this humidity! Ugh!
To: bentfeather
It was rainy, cold, and miserish last night.
And it's supposed to rain again tonight.

Yupper just like here. Been that way all weekend, just get the weather willies from it all.
To: bentfeather
The rain was playing havoc with my equipment, been 'interesting' in that respect.

Oh I bet so, all the dampness in the air is bound to bother electronics.
To: bentfeather
It was the rain itself that took out some of my electronics.
Was quite fascinating.
Gotta head back out.
*groan*
Oh well.

Once in awhile nowadays, my brain will break from the geopolitics and still give me a glimmer...Sunken Civilization pinged me to two really interesting pings today, both with a bit of connection to Arthur, and thus the birth of this poem.
Arthurian material used to be a major hobby of mine...
