Bay Shore High School's Class of 2006 homecoming king admitted in a Suffolk courtroom Friday to taking part in what prosecutors called one of the more horrifying crimes in recent history -- the beating, rape and robbery at gunpoint of a young couple on their first date.
Recalling talking with his co-defendants after driving away from the brutal crime, Douglas Payton, 18, said, "We started to laugh about it."
Payton pleaded guilty Friday to first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and first-degree robbery for the Dec. 3 attack in Bay Shore. Newsday is not naming the couple because they were victims of sex crimes.

IMO, if individuals knew ahead of time that they were going to get an equal reaction for every action they executed, society in general would become more gentle and kind.
So, I guess these guys don't have to worry about being accepted at college.
...and that equal reaction maybe should include castration in this case.

Had a big SOB come up one night, tell me and my date to get out, and punch me through the window. I got out, with the war surplus Bolo knife I had strapped to the steering column. One thing sure, that boy could run!
You don't take anyone's daughter, anyplace, unless you are willing, and able, to protect her. The Bolo knife got replaced, with a model 1911, the very next day.
And what will be done with those offenders? The system will farm them out to one prison or another, but, eventually, they will be back in society to hurt others. When we get serious about the kind of world we want to live in, we will dispatch those dirtbags promptly, not after 30 years of appeals and taxpayer expense.
And anyone believe they wouldn't rape again???
They must qualify for football scholarships to Florida State University.
Note that Payton's family, or somebody, could afford a half-million dollar bail bond. Not poor at all.

The crime was not something they did of their own volition -- it was just "something that happened".

Reminds me of the single mother who was quoted in a news story whining about how stigmatized she is in life. People treat you "like it's your fault," was her idiotic comment. Sounds just like these pieces of garbage.
