DURHAM, N.C. — On March 21, a week after an African-American woman charged that she had been raped by three white Duke University lacrosse players, the police sergeant supervising the investigation met with the sexual-assault nurse who had examined the woman in the emergency room. The sergeant, Mark D. Gottlieb, reviewed the medical report, which did not say much: some swelling, no visible bruises.

It appears Gottlieb cooked up an embellished account for the benefit of the prosecution. I hope he gets hung out to dry.

By the OJ/Furman standard he should be thrown out of court, all testimony disregarded for using the n-word. (and not 10 years ago either!)

Yes, I think he can access. However, the affidavits everyone swore to said the "medial RECORDS OBTAINED by SUBPOENA reveal.."

The NYT admits the Medicals RECORDS say a little swelling and not much else. If Gottlieb knew the records stated only a little swelling, as the NYT said he did, WHY WOULD HE make such a huge error and put himself in legal jeopardy?

Maybe because this story is BALD FICTION.

The AV could have been beaten up after the alleged rape by say her father, pimp, or ???

She was dealing drugs and a runaway at fourteen. Married at joined the army at what, 18? And, now has again cut herself off from her family.

She's suffers/has suffered from bipolar disorder, depression, back problems, etc. Is there a pattern of abuse in her background?

She has all the marking of someone with one hell of a substance abuse problem.

She was making a lot of money tax-free too. Substance abuse explains were all her money was going to.

She has all the marking of someone with one hell of a substance abuse problem.

And that maybe why she dreamed up this scheme, to avoid drug testing.

“Anytime her bottom touched the sofa cushion while repositioning during our interview, she groaned and had a facial expression consistent with pain.”

What I have found interesting all along is the AV's and DPD's failure to mention her falling down the steps.

Dan Abrams said that he saw all of the photos and he noticed an abrasion / cut on the bottom of the AV's butt cheek. That injury is not noted in any of the medical details we've seen so far. The injuries to her ankle and leg have been noted but not the one Abrams claims is clearly visible from the unpublished photos of her lying on the ground in the back yard.

Why didn't the AV mention in her statement that she fell / was pushed on the back steps? Why don't any of the DPD statements include the fact she fell down the back steps. Are they trying to hide that fact? Do they want us to believe that since she hurt her butt and couldn't sit down, that she was therefore raped? Regardless of the photographic evidence of her falling down the steps.

Will they now say the "fall down" photos were staged to cover up for the beating she took during the rape? Since she never mentioned falling down, the injuries must have occurred during the rape... Right?

She admits to having had two large beers before the event, plus other testimony is that she was given a mixed drink.

She was on a muscle relaxant according to her statement.

Combine alcohol (beer, drink) with that particular relaxant and the manufacturer says you are risking death and hallucination.

I'm quite willing to take the word of the manufacturer, and this woman seems to have been hallucinating.

And that's just what she admits to.

According to her regular driver she was clumsy, argumentative, etc., when drinking earlier in the day.

She had access to plenty of quite entertaining prescription drugs at modest prices ~ why would she wish to spend more on illicit substances of unknown potency.

I've known bipolar folks who "got off on" stopping their medication, and those muscle relaxants she was using have a street value far beyond the cost to her.

Once we see that bipolar/depression diagnosis, many of us understand what its about ~ either a friend, close relative, neighbor or other acquaintance has educated us.

There are a couple of bipolar posters who earlier picked up on that and gave quite stark personal testimony on the matter.

How did she get the muscle relaxant? Does anyone know what is generally given for a bipolar disorder?

She was prescribed the muscle relaxant for a chronic backache.

Bipolar disorder can be treated by an immensely wide variety of medicines and nostrums. Sometimes I think doctors are simply experimenting with these unfortunate folks.
