Need help determining candidates to vote for in primary elections in Florida.
For example, only Katherine Harris has bothered soliciting my vote for US senate. No information about what they stand for (pro-con) for family, sexual orientation, immigration, etc. for any of the other candidates! LeRoy Collins has a website, but he might as well not have one for all the info it gives you. I've received info from both state senate candidates, but no one else.
Can anyone help? Thanks
This election the best tactic FOR US ALL IS STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN TICKET.Thats there tactic fight fire with fire get out vote red.
Will McBride marched with Immigrants United for Freedom (IUF) a few weeks before he filed to run for Senate. IUF has ties with leftist organizations including Code Pink, A.N.S.W.E.R., CAIR, etc. There is a photo of McBride carrying the big sign for IUF leading the march.
Collins is pro-abortion.
Katherine is the one true conservative in the race. The others
sound good in sound bites, but thats about as far as it goes.
The media is out to collect on their vendeta against her from 2000
when they (the media) tried to make the world believe alGore won.
They havent been able to fight off the fact that she was following
the law. She is that target of their hate in Florida, and the other
states have followed suite, as is normal for the libs/dems/socialists.
If you want to vote for a viable candidate for the U.S. Senate, I'd urge you consider a vote for Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. If you want to vote for a candidate who will lose by 30%+ in November, Katherine Harris fits the bill.
As for the Gov's race, the best bet is Charlie Crist. He's not as Conservative as most of us would like, but Gallagher's campaign tactics against Crist were very sleazy, and turned off a lot of people.
In the interest of disclosure, we both know you are not going to vote for Collins or any other candidate in the Florida primary or general elections because you are not a Florida resident.
This is a primary... "straight republican ticket" doesn't much help when all the people on the ballot are GOP.
Katherine Harris has "Flock TOL's" 4 votes.
What do you mean? I am a Florida resident who works for the Army in Germany as a school nurse for military children. As per state law, I am still elligible to vote.
I've wondered just how much is hype from the media, who love to diss her, and how much is fact. Glad to hear about some. I'd have to say that I've not heard much good about any of the candidates for state or federal office. It seems that most are RINOs. Most are pro-abortion, waver on immigration, think the states should decide the issue of marriage, etc. We all know what that means...the public votes for a marriage ammendment and the state supreme court shoots it down.
This year's ballot seems to be a sad affair, to be honest.
She's talking about me, I'm a resident of Tennessee. However, as a resident of the USA with a vested interest in seeing that the Republicans retain the Senate, I'd urge you, as a Florida voter, to vote for a candidate that could make this a competitive race in November, which would be Admiral Collins. The KH diehard types, sadly, choose to ignore the fact that as long as she is the nominee, there is no possible way she will ever be elected over Nelson, and is the single most polarizing political figure in the state of Florida.
I'd urge you to review these threads to see the mindset of those that want to win the race for the Republicans vs. those that wish to mindlessly support a profoundly flawed candidate:

What are you zotting for? She asked a legitimate question.
Shery ....First of all, let me thank you for your service for our country! It is because of brave Americans like you that we still have the freedom to vote.
If you want to vote for the true conservatives running in Florida....the choices are Katherine Harris for the Senate and Tom Gallagher for Governor.
Harris has a 92 rating with the American Conservative Union. She has proven herself to be a true conservative by her votes in the US House during her two terms. She has been endorsed by the Florida Christian Coalition because of her strong pro-life stance. She is against amnesty for illegals, wants a secure border and fully supports President Bush's war on terror, our troops and their mission in Iraq.
Tom Gallagher has a comparison of himself & Charlie Crist on various issues his website. Please take a look at that comparison here: http://www.tg2006.com/
The Miami Herald reported that Crist failed to properly fill out the Christian Coalition Candidate Questionnaire by refusing to answer five specific questions relating to gay civil unions, parental notification for abortions, a 24-hour waiting period before a doctor can perform an abortion, and amnesty for illegal immigrants.
You can read Tom Gallagher's completed Christian Coalition of Florida Candidate Questionnaire and Crists submission to the Christian Coalition of Florida by logging onto their site:

I support Harris and Gallagher too, and will be voting for them in the primaries, although I can except to get flamed for that on here.
