Sorry! I was referring to your comment about Ramsey's cuff making the mark on the wall, as opposed to a shoe smudge, when I wrote this.

"" ... It could be like you say too."

The sentence about the evidence pointing both ways was meant to be separate, and not connected to the above statement. I worded it badly and did not mean to misrepresent what you had said.

The bear was not given to Jonbenet by a pegeant director -- it was a giveaway to the contestants at the Amerikids Pegeant held on Decmeber 14, 2006 of which Jonbenet was a contestant. So that explains where Jonbenet's bear came from.

I missed it, what/where is the source of that information?

I just said "pageant person" because I wasn't sure where the info came from, but didn't say the "pageant director," because I couldn't remember exactly. I thought it might have been another pageant contestant or mom.

It was more telling to me that Patsy and Pam made a huge deal out of it. *the wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round ...*

Don't know, unless Tracey didn't know the Santa bear origins had been solved. Not spending time speculating on anything about Karr at this point, just trying to hear the facts.

Dan, I read about YOU from a transcript from an old "talk" show..just today.

They were talking about the guy from Elk Grove having the equipment to enhance the Teddy Bear photo, and he volunteered to help out with the investigation. And they read an email from you to the investigators..which said something like "Glad to be able to help out"...when they all thanked you.

Small world, Dan. :)

???

You mean like 10 years after she was murdered?

I don't know that it was this guy. DNA will clear that up, but I don't think it was the Ramsey's.

I cannot imagine tying a cord around my child's neck, and twisting a Garrott while watching my child claw at the rope trying to loosen it. She had tiny little fingernail marks on her neck from trying to get it off. I don't see someone just deciding to do this one day. It would take a sick sick mind.

I meant that Smit's demo has been shown over and over, in different TV presentations.

It's hard for me to imagine a current investigator like Bennett doing anything like that in the media, but I've pretty much ignored the case for more than 3 years, so maybe things have changed a lot in Boulder.

I thought it was probably on Greta, but didn't want to say for sure when it wasn't in my notes.

"The Ramsey's bought thier 15 room home for $500,000 in 1991 and immediately started having work done - to the tune of a $700,000 renovation."

Yes, I'd also noticed his home restoration business and wondered whether he might have done work for the Ramseys (or perhaps friends of theirs) in either Georgia or Colorado. Also, he might have flown into CO on one or more occasions to do some kind of consulting on a project even if he wasn't a principal contractor. John Ramsey wouldn't necessarily have ever known his name, especially if Karr did work for a friend of theirs (or Ramsey simply might have forgotten the name if he'd ever heard it). If Karr did do anything in connection with the Ramseys' 700K remodel it doesn't mean the Ramseys even knew who he was if they went through someone else as the principal contractor.....

Yes, it is a commonly misused word/phrase. LOL, probably several million of those google hits are related to the ransom note and people's discussion of it.

I need to find it, but it wasn't a demo. It was part of a documentary. They followed the investigator as he toured the crime scene and pointed out different oddities. When he got to the grate. He discussed the grass, opened the grate, then climbed inside. It was fairly recent. I've got to feed horses, but I'll try to find out the name of it and post it to you.

Could be, however, the much more indicative phrase, "good southern common sense," has less than 600 hits.

I know, I know, you're never wrong.

No, it was that specific tape from that specific batch made at the Shurtape factory in Hickory, NC, but the only place it could be bought locally in Boulder in Dec 1996 was McGuckin's.

I'm sure there are some who will say it could have been bought in Hamilton, AL, too - but let's ask them for proof that it was, lol.

hey that's cool.....where did you see that? LexNex or something?

"Having the equipment" - funny. It was Photoshop 4.0 running on Windows 95

Check back in an hour or so, I'll go find the original photos from my archives and psot them here.

I didn't know Ruby played left handed, like Paul Mcartney.......

His style was more like Hendrix. That picture is his rendition of, 'Scuse me, while I blast this guy.

this entire story is falling apart...

Agreed. To me, the most damning thing is that his ex-wife says he couldn't have been there.

Ex-wives are ex for a reason. And usually, it seems to me, they'd be more than happy to finger the creep if he was anywheres near the scene.

Sounds more and more like he's just a perv who had an obsession with the case. Maybe he said what he did so he could get exradited back to the US.

Either way, he deserves the ball and chain, if not alot worse. But unless the DNA comes back a match, and he can without a doubt be traced to the scene, I'm reluctant to call this case solved.

Yes, that's Smit's portion of a documentary, made from *parts* of the PowerPoint presentation of the BPD which he sued to get possession of when he left there.

It was on CBS and may have been in one of Tracey's, which I have never seen in full.
