The man who claimed he killed JonBenet Ramsey was known in his Alabama hometown for his flashy red sports car. But he was also dogged by questions about his marriages to teenage girls and behavior in elementary classrooms where he worked as a substitute teacher.
John Karr, who lived in northwest Alabama from his preteen years until after the brutal slaying in Colorado, stood out in this rural town both for his gull-winged red DeLorean and his intelligence. Marion County School Superintendent Bravell Jackson, says people couldn't help but like him. Jackson taught Karr and later had to fire him as a substitute teacher amid parent complaints.
Sandra Ford, a retired fifth-grade teacher at Kilby School in Florence supervised Karr's internship, says she was concerned by the way he related to female students. Karr's marriages to teen girls also generated talk in the area. Court records show a 14-year-old girl sought an annulment of their "ceremonial marriage" in 1985. She claimed she feared for her life when she agreed to wed him in 1984, when she was just 13 and he was 19. Karr admitted she was a minor, but denied she was 13.
A judge granted the annulment. Karr later married Lara Karr, who was 16 when their twin daughters died the day they were born on September 1st, 1989. The girls, Angel and Innocence Karr, are buried in the cemetery of a rural church in a family plot. Former Sheriff A-C Tice says the twins were born at home. Probate Judge Annette Bozeman says Karr apparently delivered his children.

One thing that stood out to me -- a red delorean? Who would take a delorean and paint it red?
Also, notice he also had twin daughters born close to when Jonbenet was that died in childbirth at home. Also, his ex-wife lara was apparently only 16 when they got married.
FLORENCE, Ala. -- A Florence newspaper reports in today's edition that the schoolteacher accused of killing JonBenet Ramsey was a former student at Bevill State Community College and the University of North Alabama.
John Mark Karr, according to the TimesDaily, studied elementary education, but did not graduate from UNA.
Sandra Ford, a retired fifth-grade teacher, told the paper that she often raised questions about the way he interacted with female students at Kilby Laboratory School in Florence. Karr was a student-teacher at the school in January 2000.
Ford said Karr apparently was uncomfortable with his evaluations and left UNA a few weeks later.
Karr was arrested yesterday in Thailand, and, amazingly spoke freely to reporters today when authorities brought him out in public.
He declared his love for JonBenet to an Associated Press reporter, stressing her death was an accident.
Who would pull khakis up to their chest with no belt? Who would button all three buttons on a polo shirt?
He was a used-car tradesman
This scumbag tried to lure kids over the internet ten years ago --

YIKES...his TWINS DIED on the day they were BORN...AT HOME???? Sounds VERY WIERD.
This places Karr back in Alabama in 2000. He was then arrested in California on Chold Porn charges in 2001.
Local TV here in Montgomery is now reporting that he is being investigated as a suspect in 3 possibly related murders of 11 year old girls in 2001. One girl , Shannon Paulk, was murdered in Prattville, AL in August 2001. the other 2 were in Northern Alabama, and the other was in Georgia.
Karr lived in N. Alabama, went to school there, and much of his family live in Georgia.
Also the three murders occured during a time when Karr's whereabouts cannot be confirmed.
painting a DeLorean alone should get him fried....
the dude is a nerd.....what teenage girl is gonna marry him?
Something is seriously wrong with John Karr. Something is not right with him.
Ugh I should proofread - ONE in N. Alabama, One in Georgia. Third was in Prattville, AL.

Chilling.
Yeah, a DeLorean should never be painted. I could never picture a red DeLorean. It is heresy.

Southern Gothic to a T.
Perhaps it was actually a Bricklin.
People will be coming out of the woodwork about this guy and perhaps many, many cold cases will be solved.
Where does he/did he get his money?
Who told the father that he was dead? Why?
I have a feeling that this is like the Unabomber...the brother contacted the cops (or visa.versa after seeing or reading something or whatever.
Interesting that the NOTE contains the word HENCE, a word Patsy uses. But it might be a southern thing..a bible thumping leftover. While I was writing an historical novel, I found myself using the same word.
Bricklin indeed, funny. Every high school had one such driver. Be it a Healy 3000, Firebird 400 (with the hood tach).
All those little clues pop out: Angel and Innocence were their names.
