BANGKOK, Thailand - The American suspect in the killing of JonBenet Ramsey told investigators that he drugged and had sex with the 6-year-old beauty queen before accidentally killing her, a senior Thai police officer said Thursday.
An autopsy on Ramsey said a blood screening showed no drugs or alcohol in her body but said she had vaginal abrasions.
Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul, head of Thailand's immigration police, said by telephone that he was not present for the questioning, which was conducted by U.S. law enforcement officials.
But, according to what the general said he was told of the questioning, the suspect, John Mark Karr, "said he drugged the child." Suwat did not say who briefed him on the questioning.
Karr claimed he had sex with Ramsey, who was still alive, Suwat said. Karr said he then realized he had "accidentally" killed her, according to the general.
A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy said it had no information about Karr's alleged actions or what he said to questioners. U.S. and Colorado law enforcement officials were unavailable for comment.
True, but this perv did neither of those things.
Last night was the first night in something like 18 months I happened to see the show. I wanted to know about the story, and I asked myself "Who will be most likely to devote as much air time as possible to a tabloid-like story such as this?"
I never said it was. It was just speculation. Same as anybody else's speculation. That's what "could" means.......

But then we have it on video where he said he was "there when she died"..and when asked if he was innocent, he said "no"..

They were talking about this on the Peter Boyles show out of Denver this morning. He kept extensive files on the case and was saying that a lot of things just don't add up here.

Don't know if Thai police take DNA when they arrest someone on a felony charge, but if so, and if they put it in a worldwide data base, then perhaps it popped up as a match to the DNA from Jonbenet's panties and from under her nails. Or, the FBI could have followed him around over in Thailand until he threw away a coffee cup, taken the DNA from that, and found a match with the DNA on Jonbenet. ABC said it matched.
That's creepy.
Isn't he still in Thailand? If so, he must be in some sort of jail. He's sure not at his apartment.
I've heard he's in transit back here. It's likely he was detained in jail before the flight.
Regardless, he was NOT in a Thai jail at the time he was arrested for this. He was in his apartment.
Ergo, he wasn't going to "spend the rest of his life in a Thai jail," because he never was in one until we asked for him to be.

"Questions arose about Karr's story when his ex-wife, Lara, told KGO-TV in San Francisco that he was with her in Alabama the entire Christmas season when JonBenet was killed.
His father, Wexford Karr, told the Denver Post that his son had been deeply interested in the JonBenet Ramsey case and had researched a book on the subject. KGO said Lara Karr told it her ex-husband had also been fascinated by the case of another murdered girl, Polly Klaas, which had attracted wide publicity.
Educators in Alabama, where Karr had studied education and served a teaching internship, said his interaction with children had raised concerns and he told many contradictory stories about himself.
"I did not think he could interact with children or adults .... You never knew what was true and what wasn't," Janice Myhan, a professor of education at the University of North Alabama, told Reuters."
