PETALUMA (KRON) -- It now appears the only person ever arrested in connection with the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey once taught in Petaluma schools.
The Sonoma County district attorney's office is now confirming 42-year old John Mark Karr was charged with possession of child pornography in April, 2001. Other reports indicate Karr served as a substitute teacher in the Petaluma elementary school system.
Prosecutors say Karr failed to show in court in December, 2001. He's been a fugitive ever since.
Thai police arrested Karr Wednesday in connection with the Jon Benet Ramsey case. The little girl was found dead in her Boulder, Colorado home the day after Christmas, 1996.
Yes I did. I heard it on WLSAM out of Chicago.
Where?
If he was researching the Ramsey/Klass cases how likely is it that he was preparing a cover for his visit to Thailand to sexually exploit children there and then if he got caught he was prepared with info to say he did it so he would be sent back to the US and not be sentenced to death in Thailand?
Thanks. I wonder why no one else is report that.
I see
But he would be sentenced to death here.
Palladin also found this.
Check out the resume of this John Karr:

fatima, can you just imagine how the people feel who had this creep in their homes as a male "nanny"? At least two families in Germany, both with pretty little girls.
My stomach is turning.
Can people be traced from their e-mails? If he was sending creepy e-mails, I wonder how long he'd been sending them?
Sentenced to death here means a trial of at least three years, with all the delays; then ten to fifteen years of appeals...he wouldn't be executed for quite a while.
In a Thai jail he could be beaten or starved to death before the year is out.
About ten days ago in Phoenix, two men were arrested for a string of sniper shootings that had occurred over the past year. The string included at least six murders as well as many more attempts and some animal killings too.
One of the perps and his brother spoke to the press. The brother had a very nice, upbeat voice and knew his brother,a great guy, could not have done something so awful. This despite the fact that the brother had several restraining orders put on him by more than one ex-wife.
The brother, who was arrested called a jail-house press conference and was also well spoken, apparently open and totally "innocent" according to himself.
I listened to Carr's brother on the radio and found that very same "earnest",sincere,Mr. nice-guy affect that the Phoenix brothers had. Must be the fluoride in the water.
I am still looking for somehting that links this guy to being in Boulder too, and I have yet to see it.
Did you see my post about this?

"It could be that he's not a suspect but a "person of interest.""
Since Richard Jewel in the Atlanta bombing case, are there any "suspects?"
Yes, Shermy. Good work!
Here's the latest on Yahoo:

The article says the Ramseys gave Karr's name to investigators. I wonder how they knew him? Did he ever tutor their kids?
That is still different than all the posts saying he wanted to escape the death penalty.
I'm not sure how the new federal system will work anyway. The new act may not allow for the circus stunts our court systems have turned into.
"I am Spartacus"
don't know. Early reports are garbled. He may have e-mailed them something.
Later report from Georgia says John doesn't think he knows the guy.
Wonder if any of it was in Colorado?
Did you see the website that's since been removed?
It was all about very young stars in different poses and face closeups from when Shirley Temple was a tot on. I didn't take that much notice but I think it said something about 'Butterfly Productions' or 'Rainbow Productions'. There was something like 50,000 pictures on the website apparently. I took a look at a couple on the opening page then left. I did notice there were 300+ viewers so it was getting a lot of attention.
