""Officials close to the investigation, who spoke on a condition of anonymity, said the American man, 42-year-old John Mark Karr, was already being held in Bangkok on unrelated sex charges. Sounds like this pervert decided he'd rather face the American justice system and prison rather than the Thai system, and started talking. May he rest (and rot) in Hell eventually.

Now where are the hordes of "get-tough-on-crime," family-hating, vigilante commenters who wanted to lynch JonBenet's parents? Biblically, they should all get the same death sentence they wanted for the parents.

I'm glad she heard they had a suspect--at least she had that much.

I'd like to see some incontrovertible evidence before we execute this guy.

I'd like to see some apologies from Freepers who literally danced on the grave of Mrs. Ramsey when she died. This is so very sad, that she passed without having the chance to see her daughter's killer brought to justice.I agree with you. False accusations are the sin of calumny.

Here we go again...
If this guy doesn't cut a deal and make a full confession, we are going to be totally confused after a year of this.
I thought they had his DNA???? oh nooo..

With this DNA in hand to begin with, why did they focus so obsessively with the mom?
If this is the guy, what a tragic deal.
At least the dad can go on to politics successfully which he once tried to do and could go on the lecture circuit as well.
This is second only to perhaps the McMartin case IMO.

Any JB Ramsey news junkies here? Around the time did the Ramsey's have any home reconstruction going on? I might have a 'net page lead...Yes!
I remember they had a big renovation done. That fall?
Cross check it, I'm not completely sure.

I thought DNA was pretty much "incontrovertible"--plus there's a confession.

I heard on the radio that the mother knew that law enforcement was closing in on the suspect before she died.

Yes, Old Friend. In our excitement and wanting to believe the press once again, none of this DNA or other information could be accurate..

"He completely blames the Boulder PD" -- oh, amazing. Thanks so much for posting that. I am not watching tv. I was wondering too. They really seemed to botch this right from the git-go.
I thot Mr. Benet's statement was so gracious, really magnanimous. It must have taken a lot to put that together.

I have yet to see anyone here ask for forgiveness. Matter of fact many still saying they are guilty in some fashion.
To: silentknight
Did Nancy think it was Patsey or JOhn who killed John Benet? Oh boy, can't wait so see her reacting tonight! All news tonight should be interesting over this. Greta of couse will have the entire hour dedicated to John Benet I'm sure.

Trust me, I'm not going to post what I found without making sure it's the same guy.
But what you mentioned makes it more interesting...a lot of similarities...

"She died in June of cancer." Apparently this guy was taunting her months before her death with nasty stories about her daughter's death.
