Just breaking on KUSA-TV in Denver that the suspect arrested today in the case matches the DNA at the crime scene. Nothing on the web yet...
[Tom Hand] Architect in charge of the Ramsey home remodeling project, he commented that Patsy was very security conscious. Blueprints of the home were given to the police and house plans in public records were sealed.

The list of possible suspects in this case is enormous. Not only did the Ramseys have hundreds of guests through their home at various times, they also had a large number of trades people that worked on an extensive remodeling project on the house.
Who wrote your bible? Mario Puzo?
I am not accusing anybody of anything, and I'm not a buff of this case, but as a news junkie, I will say this -- regardless of the misdeeds of the Boulder PD, DA, etc., the Ramseys didn't act as if they were totally innocent. They were evasive in news interviews about their legal strategy of dictating the terms of their questioning, which made many people suspect they were hiding something. The crime itself was bizarre, with the strange, unused ransom note and the circuitous path of the killer both inside and outside the home. Remember, there have been many crimes in which the parent(s) are the culprits, and would have escaped justice if not for tough, uncomfortable questions in face of tears (Susan Smith, for one).
My first impression when I was told an arrest was made was, "Why, after all these years of nothing, Patsy dies and BAM! Suddenly we finally have a suspect half a world away?" But like before, I'm not jumping to conclusions either way. And like it or not, we're all going to be talking about it.
What is the proper way to act if your daughter is murdered and the police think you did it?
I cannot fault them for their actions, I might have done the same in such a situation.
Don't act like they might be right.
I agree on that point. Whatever you wish for your child's future, it isn't prudent to dress them up this way anymore.
We don't have tv, so please keep me informed. Thanks.
I will forever remember a reporter taking John Ramsey to the gravesite for an interview, and there was "Daddy did it" spray painted on the tombstone. John clearly did not know that was there in advance (maybe the reporter did - I don't know). Anyway, like the lawyer he is, he kept cool outwardly but you could see the pain inside.
The parents were clearly a little weird, and the child (like most "child beauty queens") was dressed and made up very inappropriately, obviously carrying out some project of her mother's. But there's a big stretch betwen weird and homicidal, and I'm glad the police kept on this case. My daughter is a detective in a unit like this, and they keep on going - for years - until they get the killer. Congrats to these dectectivs.
There has been a huge amount of speculation on that on this thread. I live in Thailand and while I've never been inside a prison here you see a lot on TV and have read interviews with foreigners who have done time. In the case of a child sex criminal in particular, I am not sure which would be worse. Probably if I was him, and especially if I had some money to buy extra food, medicine and stuff, would lean to doing the time in Thailand.
And the death of JonBenet followed the death of his older daughter in a car accident the year before.
How do you figure that?Who wrote your bible? Mario Puzo?
In the words of Jesus, to commit a sin in your mind is the same before God, as Committing it in action.
From the Gospel of Matthew Chapter five in the King James:
21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
The same principle is repeated regarding adultery later in Matthew five:
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
This is a dominant theme in the New Testament, not some obscure point.
Got a quote for that one?
