I guess my question relates to this: he had been arrested and convicted in California in 2001 i believe and he skipped the country before sentencing. Don't people charged with child porn have to give up their DNA? That is what i thought. if so, why wasn't his DNA matched up earlier than now?
I'm sure there is simple answer ...

That could be, but IMO they had DNA from licked envelops mailed from him to the Ramseys and maybe to another professor.
