It sounds like the difference between calling someone a "Christian" and not "Christianity".
I thought a Muslim was one who practiced Islam.
I see it as a bunch of ignorant people thinking we are as ignorant as they are. Peaceful people don't blow other people up on a daily basis. They were never told of that old saying, "Actions speak louder than words".
Here's my understanding of the issue:
Islam is the name of the religion. Muslim is the name of a believer of Islam.
Just as you wouldn't call a Christian person a Christianity, or a Buddhist a Buddhism, you shouldn't call a Muslim an Islam.
Am I missing something here, or is that all the CAIR guy was trying to get across?
I'm not sure, but I think that if your Islamic, you can make the rug your praying on levitate and fly around the room. Then again, I'm not sure.
Besides, Islam is not just a religion ~ it is a GOVERNMENT, and it's a SOCIETY, and it's a CULTURE ~ all wrapped up in one.
To be a good Moslem one must seek the elimination of existing government, the destruction of existing society with its myriad of social arrangements, and the imposition of Islamic culture in place of the native culture.
I don't see any problem with dealing with Islam as though it were an insuraction or riot.

As a Catholic I know someone who is pro-choice, etc. is not really Catholic. I have a harder time saying that a Muslim, who is a radical Muslim, is not part of Islam. It seems to me that Islamic history is chock full of "militant" Muslims who were (and ARE) considered Muslims in good standing or of good memory even though they murdered thousands and thousands of non-Muslims.
That GUY from CAIR was the big stick at the top. He is totally full of SH.. He doesn't have anything truthful to say, and I am amazed that the press including FOX will even give him airtime. I had to finally turn O'Reilly off till the guy was off. These are ISLAMIC MUSLIM TERRORISTS.....all of them and we should understand this when their evil faces appear. They have a PR outfit that is next to none..and they lie beautifully. Remember what their end result is!
Seems to me the issue is it a "relgion of peace" I still see no so called moderate muslims coming forward and condeming the violence. So I will have to assume it is NOT a religion of peace.
