Saints' McPherson hurt after run-in with Titans mascot

Associated Press

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- New Orleans quarterback Adrian McPherson went to the locker room early in the third quarter after a golf cart ridden by the Titans' mascot hit him at the end of halftime Saturday night.

A Saints spokesman wasn't immediately available for an update on the quarterback, who's heading into his second season.

The mascot was riding on a golf cart and throwing items into the stands during halftime, and was heading off the field when the Saints were returning from their locker room for the third quarter.

The cart hit McPherson, who stayed on the field for a few minutes being checked out by a trainer on the sideline. He then walked off the field.

If the cart had hit Bush this story would have lead SportsCenter.

You gotta like the "hustle' of the mascot. Maybe looking for a roster spot? This is just preseason, I wonder what kind of tricks this cat has in its bag for the regular season?

I'm still surprised ESPN isn't called The Reggie Bush Channel after some of their coverage. Then again, I think any show with Madden as an announcer should be called the Brett Favre Worshipping Hour...

He got closer to a QB than Mario Williams did yesterday.

What is a mascot of a Titan...a raccoon? Is that a raccoon on a jalopy?

Almost as bad as naming a football franchise the Memphis Showboats
.

I was at the New Orleans/Tennessee game last night. I didn't see T-Rac hit the Saint, though. However, T-Rac's car now sprts spinnas, er,spinners. BTW, I was a season ticket holder for the Showboats. In all games played, they finished .500 overall. We alson had some of the best looking cheerleaders in the USFL.

BTW, during halftime, they had four pee-wee teams scrimmaging from opposite 10 yard lines. Some kid from the Hendersonville Cowboys picked of a pass and returned it 90 yards for a touchdown. That was the most scintillating play of the night.

Didn't watch the game, but from what I hear Super Mario did not have a promising debut. Incidentally, was Kimo von Oelhoffen in the mascot suit driving the go-cart (lighten up, Steelers fans)?
