We're doing a dozen or so schools. We are looking at Christendom College and James Madison in VA. Plus we will be spending a day in DC for some sightseeing.

Oh you guys are soooooooo nasty. Just scrolling down the responses so I didn't get to you guys that night. As a matter of fact, I stayed at the Hilton Narita and then had to attend a congress in Kobe. Then back to Tokyo where I stayed at the Royal Park Hotel. Very nice. While I was there, I met up with a baseball team from Fresno California who were just about to travel to Osaka to play the Japanese team. These kids were about 16-17 years old and evidently the tournament has been going on for about 20 years. Here's a Jim Robinson ping for Fresno. Anyone know how the team fared? I also spoke to three of the coaches and referred them to FR. They had no idea Fresno was so important besides the farmlands.

I left Japan for Singapore and then India and returned 8/21 to the USA, so sorry for my delayed response.

I would think you guys would have a bit more patience, living in such a wonderful country. I'll be back in December and will ping you for sushi/sashimi if you want.

Wickedly nauseated (not from alcohol) insomniac in SoCal checking in.

It's amazing how many people are up and at FR at any one time. Anyone know how to get to my original post and find how many views in total were made?

Went to your home page...Just curious...How did you know my ISP is rcn.com?

I stole that counter from AgThorn and have no idea how it identifies the user's conduit. It's pretty scary the first time. Please feel free to cut and paste the html and include on your homepage.

Nothing "Lost in Translation" here in the part of George Washington's Great Dismal that's in North Carolina, where the pre-dawn tinge of refracted terminator on the dank clouds, along with just the slightest 5 MPH "breeze" promises as much as an eight degree (F) drop in temperatures for the first time in weeks. We keep one eye on the jaded and grumbling Populace and another on the Tropics waiting for the first real cool weather that coincides with Election Day.

You want to see hot uncomfortable? I spent four days in Singapore which is like 1.5 degrees north of the equator. Hot and humid every day. I had to take a handcloth from the hotel with me because I really got dripping wet. On the positive side, Singapore has one of the nicest botanical gardens I've ever visited. It has to be the size of Central Park and there's a very nice orchid subsection. Matter of fact, the best I've ever seen.

What are you doing over here ? i've been teaching in Japan for 20 years .

I've finally got to your post 106, sushiman. I attended an agricultural conference in Kobe where I had to give a paper and then had to make some business visits in Tokyo. I'll be back in December and would make time to visit with you, particularly on the weekend.

I was in Tokyo in march, just after the cherry blossom festivals and stayed near the Big Site at the Nikko. That trip was the best business trip of my career and I've been traveling for 30 years.

Thanks for posting. Our cats are night people so we are, too. For people who liked "Lost in Translation" there's another good movie about Japan, "Enlightenment Guaranteed". Includes some beautiful scenes of the Sojiji Monastery in Monzen, near Tokyo. Would love to see that someday.

Thanks for your suggestion. Ill check NetFlicks and see if I can rent. I have'nt been at the Sojiji Monastary yet but now that you suggest it, I'll make sure we attend when I'm back in Tokyo in December. Thanks for your post.

Up in Wyoming. :-)

Nice state, Wyoming. I've driven many times from Denver up to Laramee thru the high chapparal and a very nice small post office in Tie Siding. Use to hunt antelope near the Montana border, near the Bear Tooth Gap. Horsebacked in and the Winchester 308 downed a few, from a good distance.

Question to my steed: "Hello Horsey, would you like some oats?"

Horse: "A few"

heh heh heh

Asahi is part owner of my US company. We supply them with Soda Ash for glass manufacturing.

Must be why the Asahi goes down so easily. You can buy beer at any time in Japan at the railstations.

Well you know here in the US, you almost always have a choice of Maguro (regular) or Toro (fatty) tuna.

You are right but I'll tell you, AU, the fish is pretty good in Japan. One of our country manager's took me to a fish restaurant that was located right in the Tokyo fish market. THIS was good tuna and salmon. I even had a portion of the sea anemonae. When I was in Singapore, I had some scallops on the shell. First time raw scallops. Pretty sweet.

He's only up to post 22, replying one at a time. He'll get to you in an hour or so.

Well, it's been more than an hour but I sincerely thank you for pointing my method out that evening. Actually, this evening was the calm before the storm, as business committed me to pretty intensive days and I didn't get back to FR until the weekend. You're a good guy, cobojoe.
