On August 4th, we found out that Lenovo Group, the company that has taken over IBM's Personal Computing Division, had made a deal with Novell Inc. to preload SLED 10 (SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop) on its ThinkPad T60p mobile workstation.
For the first time, a major OEM (original equipment manufacturer) has committed to preloading a Linux desktop.

It's a late 1920's design, and being you know, first, the funtionality was more important than curving the rear end of the reciever into the stock. That came later.

Further, FYI, I'm a junior standing, and this college change was necessitated because I graduated from a two-year college with an Associate's Degree.
As I've explained to you several times before, I went to the two-year college because I had most of the requirements done for their degree anyway, and the tuition was roughly a third of what I pay at a four-year school. Not to mention that I was able to finish most all of my gen-eds--IOW, I can enter this college with mostly major-specific classes and electives left for the bachelor's degree.
Do you actually have a clue about anything? If you knew anything about motorcycles, you'd know that Honda of America is, in fact, an American company. It's incorporated in America, it's run by Americans, Americans sit on its board, it employs Americans in American plants, and it buys American parts. Its profits stay in America to pay non-union American employees.

He'd probably be ok with intel processors based on Centrino/core architecture.
While not designed in america, they were designed by Intel's Israel team.(AFAIK)
With as many Fabs as Intel owns, who the hell knows where that chip in your computer came from.
The only major memory maker based in the US is Micron.
All ATI and nVidia chips are fabed by either UMC or TSMC, both of which are taiwanese.
And all motherboards AFAIK come from taiwan. Asus, ECS, Abit, Gigabyte, DFI, they're all taiwanese.
I don't miss the days of 7,000 dollar computers.

Not necessarily. The reason Intel has so many fabs is that they have such a large marketshare.(a diverse portfolio is another reason too tho)
It'd be very unlikely that intel could feed all of it's customers with one fab. AMD is approaching 25% marketshare and is struggling to do it with the two fabs it has in dresden.
Numbers are wicked like that. :-P

O.K. folks. I've come to the conclusion that this brass buzzard is not a real person. It's just a troll staking out a manufactured position. It is completely divorced from reality.
Also, age does not necessarily bring wisdom. The brass buzzard himself could be a fine example of that if you like, or you can consider just about any liberal twit attempting to teach a 'womyns studies' class.

One of the points worth mentioning is that you do, in fact, post on other subjects. The brass buzzard does not. He is so maniacal in posting on this one tiny sliver of the world, that you have to wonder if he really lives in a mental ward where they only give him microsoft promotional material to read.
I have to retract that since I mixed things up. It's IBM that has the high-speed automated fab in Fishkill, not Intel. Intel's current dual-core lineup is fabbed in Oregon, Arizona and Ireland.
What'll really screw him up is Mazda. It makes cars in America, it's 1/3 owned by Ford, and a Ford executive is its CEO. In fact, some Fords are or were basically Mazdas, including the Ford Courier (a re-badged Mazda B series pickup) and the 2nd generation Ford Probe (an MX-6 with a different body).
It gets much simpler with the GM's Geo Metro, which was just a re-badged Suzuki Cultus. Or the late 80s Pontiac LeMans, a re-badged German Opel Kadett built in South Korea. I could go on an on about how "Buy American" really isn't possible with most products.
