Mel has the right to say anything he wants - be it bad or good. People have the right to turn the channel - if they actually sit around and watch TV instead of doing something constructive. I don't care about the opinions of "celebrities" one iota. I wish they would not even make the news. Also, I don't think anyone should be surprised by Mel's rant. If his dad has the same opinion, then he was taught and or picked up his views from a very early age. We see this every day with many muslim children. They are taught to hate and kill jews and infidels from day one and they carry that into adulthood.

Can't blame Disney at all on this.

This is NewsMax .........

Since when did Disney give a flying rip about social behaviour? It's all about the money ... and Mel Gibson is a cash cow.

It's sad that Mel will pay a heavy price for his rant. The 60s crowd ('thought police') wants to regulate every word or thought that occurs to everyone. I remember a rhyme that I learned as a child that the newer generations need to adapt 'sticks and stones may break my bones but names can never harm me'. People just need to develop a thicker skin. If you don't like what someone is saying, change the channel.

After viewing the Gay Day at Disney website, Disney has no moral high ground in which to spank anyone for seemingly questionable public displays.

If Mel could turn the project into a gay relationship between a Jewish victim and his/her Nazi guard, Disney would fall all over itself trying to get it back into production.

It was kinda dumb for these guys to make Mel a spokesman for this miniseries to begin with. It just highlights the controversy surrounding him.

Well... it serves him right! This man is still a CHILD, a lot of growing up to do! What an idiot he really is... He removed all doubts about the suspicions said about the movie and him.

He will learn..

But to hear the MSM, the Dixie Chicks are VICTIMS!!!

And have lost the right to FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!

I'm in business. If I make stupid comments to my clients, I lose business. Do I have that *right*, as an American, yes. I will not go to jail. But I do not have the right to not have consequences for those comments (ie: ticking off valuable clients).

That being said, I still love Mel Gibson's work.

I investigate doctors for a living and came upon a doc that was convicted or murdering his wife. Spent time in prison, was released early and had his license to practice medicine restored.

State board determined the crime did not effect his ability to practice.

Now watch the assassination of Mel Gibson ......

Might I add ...... there are forces that would love to see Mel destroyed for making a film like The Passion.

Those that have ears ... let them hear.

"Might I add ...... there are forces that would love to see Mel destroyed for making a film like The Passion. "

I would agree that Mel is a target because of that movie.
But, I think you may be a bit dramatic. No one but Mel can destroy Mel. Mel is rich beyond most of our dreams, has a lovely wife and family. Mel has more control over his life and surroundings than I can imagine. It's all up to Mel.

Since it's all up to Mel, he should, and will, pay for his comments. Just as the Dixie Chicks paid, Mel will pay. Mel's fan base will stay, but he will lose some fans, to be sure. Mel being dropped from producing a movie about the Holocaust is a no-brainer. It had to be done.

Alcohol is a truth serum. Sure we say stupid things when drunk, but there is truth behind what we say. I'd say that Mel is an anti-semite. I think Mel needs help with his drinking problem, and his anti-semite attitude. He has the means, does he have the courage?

I'll buy the "bit dramatic" comment ...... but I was referring to a more spritual battle within Mel. As you correctly stated, only Mel can fight that fight.

After viewing the Gay Day at Disney website, Disney has no moral high ground in which to spank anyone for seemingly questionable public displays.

Disney neither organizes, nor do they endorse in any way, Gay Day.

Gay Days are only organized by independent gay and lesbian groups that infiltrate many different theme parks across the USA every year. You can read more about it here.

One of the biggest misconceptions about Disney is that they organize and endorse Gay Days at their theme parks.

This is not true. Gay Days are only organized by independent gay and lesbian groups that infiltrate many different theme parks across the USA every year. They are keenly aware that many of us regular folk mistakenly believe that Disney is the 'evil culprit', and relish the idea that people mistakenly boycott Disney as a result. They have no intention of going out of their way to make the truth known, and in fact, count on that misconception to keep people away. Disney neither organizes, nor do they endorse in any way, Gay Day.

...and the reason Disney does not warn its non-gay patrons as to gay day events is because......?
