click on the 'Find it here' .pdf to see the ABN campaign press release.
Just when you think Nifong can not stoop any lower, he threatens the animal control board members for signing the Cheek petitions? What an idiot!
And of course he has to back down and say his office will still represent the board. He will litterally have to move out of Durham County and maybe the US if he does not want to associate with anyone who knows how corrupt he is for using this hoax to further his political career.
Lol, I can just see Nifong being persued down the street by a pack of dogs nipping at his heels...
Make sure you get this info over to the Friends of Duke blog. Good job jmoo!
The news reporter says that what's "new" in this account is that the semen is identified as Evans'. Well, duh. . .
I could have figured that since it belonged to one of the three who lived in the house, Evans would be a logical
possibility.
What would be "news" to me (and what I would like to know),
is if there is semen from another player, why that player was not indicited;
and why two players whose semen was not found,
were indicted.
The problem for Nifong with Evans' semen being there is:
1. It undermines the condum excuse for no semen on her, if he claims it has anything to do with the Mangum hoax.
2. It makes the lack of semen on or in her laughable, if he claims it has anything to do with the Mangum hoax.
Isn't this kind of like taking your ball & going home? I've done that a time or two. Of course I was about 4 years old at the time. Big baby.
welcome jmoo. we need him here too! He has done it all over at the crtv boards.
Mad-Margaret, I meant to welcome JMOO when I saw this thread and your post reminded me of my neglect.
JMOO, welcome to Free Republic!
LOL, On the CTV board you were accused of "sneaking around courthouses" and Tony Soprano of "intimidating" witnesses.
Most excellent freeper material!
Commission: N.C. owes compensation for 1898 Wilmington violence
MIKE BAKER, Associated Press May 31, 2006
RALEIGH, N.C. - North Carolina should provide economic and social compensation
to victims of Wilmington's 1898 racial violence, said a panel that also concluded
the attack was not a riot, but this country's only recorded coup d'etat.
The report from the state-appointed commission urged lawmakers to consider
economic reparations in Wilmington, including incentives for minority small
businesses, compensation to heirs of victims through court action and help
for minority home ownership.
"There is no amount of money that can repair what happened years ago
and compensate for the loss of lives and the loss of property," said vice
chairman Irving Joyner, a professor at N.C. Central School of Law.

Professor Joyner is very busy extorting the taxpayers of North Carolina
right now. Wonder what his fellow NCCU Law School faculty member
Mrs. Easley thinks of all this.
We've been hearing about the terrible towel for months. Ho-hum.... Do they think we don't have memories? If that silly towel is so important, why isn't Crystal's DNA on it? That's right... The date rape drug eliminated her DNA.
Nice find, maggief, on the "expert's" unreported conflit of interest.
Here is another good article - http://hnn.us/blogs/entries/28553.html
The only thing I can figure, is that it's human nature not to admit one's mistakes. Very hard for people to do. And early on, a whole lot of people went whole hog on this thing...
Animal Control Board
In a July 28 e-mail message to his fellow board members,
Nifong wrote that he "was truly dismayed at the number
of my fellow board members who signed the Lewis Cheek [petition]."
What? Did he go to the Board of Elections and read all
the petitions? Collect names and addresses? Is this the start
of a campaign of harassment and intimidation of the voters
of Durham County?

All incumbent candidates do this. And yes, it does have a whiff of intimidation.

a little history for everyone:
N.C. Rep. Michael Decker Switches to Democrat Party (Switches Control to Democrats)

Michael Decker Pleads Guilty To Conspiracy 8/1/2006
RALEIGH - Former State Rep. Michael Decker pleaded guilty today to a federal conspiracy charge to extort, commit mail fraud and launder money.
Decker acknowledged accepting $50,000, including $12,000 in cash, from Democrats in exchange for switching to the Democratic party and supporting Rep. Jim Black, D-Mecklenburg, for speaker.
He also said he got a legislative job for his son.
The plea agreement read in court today said that Decker met with a Democratic House member to discuss the political deal, but the papers did not name that person. Later, Decker received an envelope containing $38,000 in checks and $12,000 in cash, court documents said. An unnamed Democratic House member delivered the money, whose source was unclear. A prosecutor said that much of the money went into Decker's campaign account.
Although Black was not named, he has testified in a Board of Elections hearing that he raised campaign money for Decker after Decker agreed to support him.
Decker, a former Republican, faces up to five years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. He will be sentenced in November.
Decker had not been charged until Tuesday. He waived indictment and pleaded guilty as part of a pre-arranged deal.
The case is part of a continuing investigation into improper campaign fundraising and other allegations surrounding Black.
This kind of public corruption undermines our democracy and the legitimacy of legislative bodies, Acting U.S. Attorney George Holding said in a statement. ... Public officials must be held accountable when they take official actions for private financial gains.
Decker has said he used the money for a trip to Florida, where he bought a used car.
Well, there you go. Way yonder too cheap. He coulda got at least 100k easy...
May become relevant sometime--for filing :

"Former Representative Michael Decker admitted in federal court today receiving $50,000 and a legislative job for his son in exchange for supporting Jim Black for a third term as House speaker in 2003."
I'm not certain, but I think Black may have been suspected in something with regard to the entertainment business, too. That's going on memory here, so I could be 100% wrong.
So this is going on a back burner, to be recalled if necessary. . .
