LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - David Hasselhoff was banned from a plane for being too drunk.

The 'Baywatch' star, nicknamed The Hoff, turned up intoxicated to London's H eathrow airport at 7am yesterday (26.07.06), and then continued to knock back drinks in British Airways' first class lounge as he waited to board his 9.55am flight to Los Angeles. The troubled actor - who recently claimed he had beaten his alcohol problems - ranted to airline staff and VIP passengers about his divorce and moaned, "My life is a mess."

An onlooker said: "He was drinking alone and staring into space, He started ranting incoherently. It was clear he was talking about his wife and the messy divorce. Her was sobbing and nodding his head."

During his drunken stupor the star stumbled into a duty free shop and lifted up the manageress.

Another witness revealed: "The manager said, 'I don't think you're fit to fly, sir.' He told her. 'I think you are right.'"

Onlookers were even more horrified when a dark wet patch appeared around the actor's groin area.

BA staff decided Hasselhoff was unfit to travel and asked him to sleep it off and wait for another flight.

He was finally allowed to board a flight two hours later, but was taken there in a buggy - usually reserved for elderly passengers.

A BA spokesman confirmed: "A male passenger was denied boarding on the BA279 Heathrow to Los Angeles service because he was deemed unfit to travel. He was assessed later and passed fit to fly on BA283.

I'm not some sheltered prude... I've seen a lot of messed-up things in my life. But even years after first encountering it, that photograph remains the most disturbing image I've ever seen.

Ummm, what show did you watch? KITT had a male voice. A prissy male voice, but a male voice nonetheless.

KITT's voice was the actor William Daniels.

I wish someone would tell David Caruso!

Yeah--talk about someone who needs to stop taking himself so seriously.

If you are robbed at gunpoint, it's forgivable.

But only the first time!

"Drunk Hasselhoff Wets Himself"

It's possible to not be familiar with Knight Rider, as it's been more than twenty years since...

A fellow Freeper said he knew he was old when he told a Karen Carpenter/Mama Cass joke at his work, and NOBODY got it, because they had no idea who either of those women were.

For what it's worth (which isn't much), Hassel the Hoff's publicist claims the Hoff wasn't drunk, but hyped up on prescription drugs:

Actor DAVID HASSELHOFF was not turned away from a British Airways flight because he was drunk, says his publicist, JUDY KATZ, calling a story in the tabloid The Sun "totally untrue."

Katz exclusively tells ET: "Due to a new medication prescribed by his doctor in London on Tuesday for an infection in his injured hand, Mr. Hasselhoff became ill at Heathrow Airport yesterday and requested to be put on a later flight to Los Angeles. He left London on a 12 noon British Airways flight and will be appearing on 'America's Got Talent' 'live' later today."

Witnesses reportedly told The Sun that the former "Baywatch" star appeared to have trouble standing and told staff he was upset about his divorce from PAMELA BACH while waiting for his flight to Los Angeles.

A statement from the airline declined to name Hasselhoff, saying, "A male passenger was denied boarding flight BA279 Heathrow to Los Angeles service as he was deemed to be unfit for travel. He was reassessed by staff and he was accepted for travel on flight BA283, which left two hours later."

This is the first (and hopefully, the last) time I ever posted anything from Entertainment Tonight on Free Republic.

LOL! Thank you. As much as I think "Norm" is a dork, I always loved that particular bit on SNL. :)

Yeah--talk about someone who needs to stop taking himself so seriously.

And he infects every one on CSI. Every line on the show is spoken like it's from the Oracle Of Delphi, holding the skull of Yorick in one hand, the Stone Tablets from Mt. Sinai in the other with 15 Apache arrows in the back while single handedly facing down the gunslinger on the street.

I ran across that GIF a while back, and nabbed it, as it was so bizarre. It's easy to make fun of Hasselhoff, but this guy apparently has serious problems. How can anyone think people will believe you severed tendons and an artery shaving? David's either going to sober up or they'll find him dead in a hotel room.
