Gun Safe Recommendations?
vanity

Does anyone have information regarding Patriot Gun Safes or other gun safe manufacturers? I would appreciate any advice about purchasing a gun safe that you might provide. Thanks

For rifles, handguns? One or two guns or a butt load? I personally like my Remington, but that's just me.

Thanks...I should have been more specific. I am looking for something that will hold 10-24 rifles. The dimensions vary, but are typically 60" x 28" x 30" and weigh in at about 500 to 700 pounds. Fire and burglarly resistance are important. I thought that a company called Pentagon/Sportsman Steel Safes might be a good choice but discovered that their BBB rating was F and that someone had posted a complaint at Rip-Off Reports about them. Patriot Gun Safes Has a AAA rating with BBB, but I am hoping to get more information about that company as well as leads on others. Thanks!

Before you buy anything in that class -- see if there is a local dealer with some "National Security" safes on the floor...National Security is a product of Liberty Safe.

They cost a little more -- but provide so much more.... I've been very pleased with mine.

A "plus" that was important ONLY to my wife --- "they're pretty enough to bring in the house"...
Even though mine is in the garage shop.

Consider the load bearing ability of the floor where you put it. A buddy put one in a spare room/den/gun room. It was one approx. the dimensions you mentioned. He place it next to awall that had a bathroom on the other side of the wall. The tub/shower was on the other side of the wall. The grout around the tub was old and leaking, then the shower started leaking. The floor boards rotted. His kids mostly used this bathroom so it kind of went unnoticed. He came home one afternoon and found the bathtub, his gun safe and most of the flooring down in his basement. Took him a long time to share our laughter.

Well, I suppose I shouldn't laugh either..;-) You make a very good point. In my case, the safe will be on the ground floor on a slab. Thanks!
