Tom Scharpling and Jon Wurster have been called "the Glimmer Twins of Comedy." Scharpling is a writer/producer for the television show Monk. Wurster plays drums for Superchunk and Robert Pollard. There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that anything in their column ever actually happened.
Traditional Thai wedding food?
Me neither. Love them both, but together? Weird.
Lazy "journalist". He could have called up Cap'n Dan, the newsman, for a translation.
I understand he's anxious for attention.
Is anything in this article true?
Was it really true that before he died, Jimi Hendrix was going to join Emerson, Lake and Palmer, to form the group, HELP? I've heard this story floating around for years.
I missed that too, but I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard that "The Buggles" had joined Yes! I was shocked and completely depressed... A few weeks earlier a buddy of mine whos father worked in the NY music industry told me that he had a cut off of a new Yes album that he wanted me to hear... I had no idea that they had cut an album - Well, it was a practical joke: It was a song by Starcastle.
Anyway, I remember reading the article while on the Harlem/Hudson line going to Manhatten.
Frankly, I really liked Tormato, I thought it was a good concert tour as well, but Drama was quite a change for the band. And I think that it was a good change.
But I couldn't imagine Lou Reed in Yes. I can see how it would be a disaster.

I must add this one to my list of colorful colloquialisms.
Summers used chorus pedal on almost everything on Regatta De Blanc and afterwards. He was known for bringing it to prominence.
