DURHAM, N.C. -- Officials say they are investigating an alleged assault involving Durham police officers outside a Raleigh bar.

Together they discover a dangerous circle of corruption in high places.

If Gottlieb is fired or demoted - We are talking about assault and battery and racial intimidation here - then look at the impact.

Gottlieb will also be asked how in a black CITY with all it's crime, he managed to work a district where it's mostly white (Duke & close area).

Mr Gottlieb, Do you prefer working a white district?

Mr Gottlieb, Did the DPD assign you to a white area due to prior issues with your behavior or attitude?

The Durham PD guy investigating (Hodge) said that he doesn't think this will effect the Duke LAX trial - How does he know that?

Is the outcome preordained? Because, it could potentially
make the case unprosecutable. If Gottlieb, is fired - it's over. He, at a minimum, should be demoted.

This shows Gottlieb's propensity to make bad decisions - and that he has no problems breaking the law while go forward with his bad decisions - in my opinion.

Notice, how the Newspapers are printing Gottlieb picture (more than once) and NOT Clayton's or the other guys - I think that's because they know Gottleib is the one being accused. In my opinion, Gottlieb is the one that ripped off his shirt and tried to cream the guy. The description of the big shirtless man fits Gottlieb.

Duke lacrosse: Waiting for police "arrangements"?

It's now more than 100 hours since an alleged assault by Durham police officers just before midnight last Thursday in the parking lot of a Raleigh sports bar.

And guess what? I can't find a single local news organization that's publicly complaining that so far the Raleigh City Police have failed to complete and make public an incident report.

As I pointed out in a post Sunday, it's standard practice for police to prepare an incident report on the scene or within a few hours of the incident, and then make the report available to media and other interested parties. [end excerpt]

Investigators know that there were other Durham officers in the bar "who were not involved in this incident and didn't know there were other officers present, Hodge said.

Simply not credible. Imagine hanging out at a sports bar with a few friends from work. If there were another few friends from work hanging out at the same bar, how likely is it you would not know it over the course of the evening?

I wonder if Hodge is making that claim based on statements by officers who "were not involved in this incident and didn't know there were other officers present".

And Factor in that the people there (supposedly unknown to the others) all drove from another City. What a coincidence. If one of those guys scoping the bar - sees the other group - he doesn't tell the rest of his group or go over and talk to them.

That is what happens on Juries - that is Jury dynamics.

Many jurors - even 3 days later - when separated from the others on the Jury will deviate from their opinion and say they were wrong; however, in the presence of those Jurors they cannot and will not stand up to them.

Psychologists studying this phenomenon say it's very common.

How many white jurors (3 I think) in the Michael Jackson trial came out within a week and said they thought he was a child molester and they had made a mistake. Yet, with the other Juror members in a post-trial press conference they had a TOTALLY different tune.

I have seen this effect close up.

As far as the female former ADA comments,

But, we are always told how those slurs reveal the character of someone. We are always told, by the media, how you don't speak like that unless it's a part of your personality and your vocabulary.

Notice, how none of the articles treat the use of these slurs like Finnerty was treated. In fact, with Finnerty, the papers applied an analysis to him - they were HOMOPHOBIC comments. However, no one has said explicitly (in MSM) what this says about the Police officer or officers.

The Defense will argue that it indicates:

1) They use bad judgement

2) When exercising that bad judgement, they have no problem breaking the law.

1 & 2 don't bode well for someone that is supposed to be collecting evidence and investigating a crime that carries a 20 year sentence.

Who among us would want someone prone to use bad judgement and cross the law investigating a loved one in a very serious felony?
