I agree; a very sensible scenario indeed. However I think we would be giving the "DA, City Manager, Mayor, City Council, et al" of Durham entirely too much credit to think that they would be able to do that. They lack both the common sense to try it (or something similar) and the native intelligence required to carry it out. They'll continue to be like flies caught in flypaper of their own making; able to do nothing more than wish it would all somehow go away. But it is nice to fantasize that they would somehow be this creative.

How quickly you forget what appears to be the only evidence linking the two defendant to this "crime". A line up.
I have not forgotten the photo array. I have Himan testifying to it. Are you sure Gottleib was the only one there? Why all the discussion of him showing Himan and Williams how to set up a powerpoint photo array? Why mention that Himan and Gottleib met with Nifong and Nifong suggested the lineup with no wrong answers?
