Make up and acronym for politicians who joined the military just for their political career.

Well it started with this, We have a word for fake republicans called RINO.

We need an acronym for someone who joins the military just for the political points. The people like Kennedy, Kerry, Carter, Murtha, and this clown need some kind of name tag so we know who we are dealing with. This technique is very common now and taught in college political science classes.

THEN ALL OF THESE POSTS POPPED UP SO i MOVED IT OVER HERE.

Kennedy, whether a good sailor or bad, put himself in harm's way, and did not grab an easy, behind the action assignment. I have a lot of problems with the Kennedys, but John Kennedy served in WWII, and did so legitimately.

I agree. But JFK was from an entirely different era. Most of the USA still had pride and Patriotism back then..our dirty laundry stayed here.

Kerry used his military service to validate his statements as a critic of the war. He used his position as a leader of that movement to lie to congress and meet with Communists in France.

He stood on stage during the DNC convention and played up his service (although he had famously thrown "his" medals over the White House fence).

Additionally, Kerry stood shoulder to shoulder with Bill Clinton (someone who clearly dodged the drafted and wrote in a letter how he "loathed the military") and attacked George W. Bush's service.

If a young man has the fore thought and willingness to enter the military to promote a later career of any kind, he has my blessing and should be called sweet things....

Well, there it is - Sweet things!

Kerry, you sweet thing... Murtha, you sweet thing...

I disagree. The idea of a political career was probably on the minds of some, but these guys served honorably and volunteered.

Kennedy was even a war hero (for losing his ship, which I never quite understood).

Murtha volunteered and served honorably. I fault him for throwing his fellow Marines under the bus to curry favor with the moonbat left, but not for his service.

Carter was Annapolis and pursuing a Navy career when he had to cut it short to take over the family business.

Kerry joined the Navy to avoid the draft, but I know plenty of guys who joined the Navy and Air Force for that same reason.

OTOH, LBJ was a purely political animal. But so was Gen. MacArthur, who gave him a Silver Star for riding in the jump seat on a bombing run.

This is a nonsensical topic.

(1) Joining the military service for future political brownie points has been around for as long as there have been government raising and fielding armies. Past glories on the battlefield (real or otherwise) have always been used to position individual for political advantages throughout history. This is hardly some "new" political strategy. Politicians and aspiring politicians from both sides of aisle do it.

(2) Then you have those who's later move into politics may not have been "planned" when they joined the military as an 18 or 20 something y.o.. Are you going to pass judgment on why someone may have joined the military as an 18 y.o. only in the context of his politics 20, 30 40, years later?

I love this one from MortMan "Uniformed Service Enhanced Rhetoric (USER)

This one is almost perfect for me... "P.O.S.E.R Politics Of Serving Expecting Reward"

"WINO Warrior in name only " this is great!

This is a natural extension of RINO "How about just 'MINO'- Military In Name Only.." These are the ones that that I think are cool. Which one do you guys like?

Since the inflation of their war records is the problem, how about
SSH - self-sung hero
When calling someone an SSH you are telling him to shut up AND you are hissing at the same time.
