The prayer request came from freedumb2003, not me. A beautiful story, in any case.

All the best for your kitty. I had my college dog, Bandit, for 16 years. Now we're going on 9 with our other Lab. It is tough to see them get old!

Good luck today! I have a 5 year-old kitty that is in the beginning stages of renal failure. We got for fluids three times a week and that seems to have stabalized her for now. I know one day, much sooner than I antificpted, I will be facing what you are and so my heart is with you and your wife today. I hope you have more time together. Let us know.

That much over the life of your cat is not all that much. And you certainly must take care of it. Please don't misunderstand my earlier comments. Perhaps we are just jaded because every cat we have become Cayote dinner or the play thing of a pitbull that lived in the neighborhood.

That is what happend to "Fetch" who was for a short time a rising star right here on FR. He got his name becuase I would roll up a ball of paper, toss it down the hall, he would chase after it and then bring if back and drop it at my feet.

Best wishes for you and your pet - it sounds like you have given her a wonderful, long life.

I have 2 cats of my own, and I dread the day that their age catches up with them; my heart goes out to you.

Whatever God has planned, have faith that it's for the best (He knows what He's doing, much more than we do!)

Prayers for your furry friend and you!

My cancerous cat is starting to fade; I hope she goes easily. Right now I don't have the conviction or desire to put her down, but I hope I can do what's best for her when the time comes.

I am so sorry. It is a terribly hard time. I believe our pets will be in Heaven. But it hurts to be the one left behind. I hope you have a while longer together.

we would never become so attached to them that we would think of praying over them

Jesus commanded us to pray! He also said that the Father would answer prayers! Prayer is a means through which God has chosen to operate. Since Jesus rose from the dead, proving that He is God the Son, surely He would know how we should pray and for what!

We are supposed to pray, but all prayers are to be within the boundaries of "God's will." We pray, but we also trust God's wisdom if He decides a different answer than we wish.

He also says to keep praying. He also says that we don't have because we don't ask.

We actually can have access to God through Jesus Christ. While a "cat" may seem trivial, just an animal, God also has created them, and commands the humans to have stewardship over the earth, including care of the animals.

We do not worship the creature over the Creator, but we also don't downgrade God by merely picking and choosing which rules we want to follow. He likes seeing our trust in Him, that we love and serve Him enough to take even our tiniest needs to him. He cares EVEN for the birds,(so also the cats!), and He also loves US, and we can trust Him with all of our lives, too!

Good news!! Just heard back from the Vet and she says that Musica's thyroid has gone back to normal (with her meds)!!

Thank all of you for your warm thoughts and prayers -- clearly they worked!

If I missed anyone on this list, I am sorry. I tried to get everyone's name for the ping, but I did it manually.

Gor Bless all of you, your families and, of course, your furry family members.

Free(notso)dumb2003, thanks so much for this ping! It just makes my day! Sly, Lucie, and Iggy (my three kitties) are all giving Musica the high-four (they can't do the high-five).
