Dallas man electrocuted trying to steal copper
Houston Chronicle ^ | 7-17-06

DALLAS -- A man who was electrocuted while on a telephone pole allegedly was trying to steal copper from it, police said.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, died Sunday afternoon, when he cut a live wire from the pole in a vacant lot, said Sr. Cpl. Jamie Matthews.

The case is being investigated as an accidental electrocution, she said.

Police have blamed a rise in copper prices for increased theft of the metal.

Police have blamed a rise in copper prices for increased theft of the metal.

It couldn't possibly be the fault of the criminals.....

Wrong!!!!, blame it on the rise in scumbags due to lack of discipline during upbringing.

Crazy stuff.. Metal shops that melt all this copper are paying up to $3 a pound for this ... easy money for criminals... that is until you try pulling the copper out of power lines.

Better sue the telephone company!

Some dirtbags stole some copper gutter pipes from a local church and other buildings. Pretty low.
