In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of the "Word for the Day".
frap [pronounced as spelled, verb, from Old French fraper to to strike or beat. Frapped, frapping, fraps. ]
a. STRIKE, BEAT
b. to draw tight: tighten with bonds (as a ship by passing cables around it: bid, draw together, or secure with ropes
A note:
frappé [pronounced fra-PAY] meaning iced or frozen, an iced drink or thick milk shake, or the ballet movement in which the free foot beats against the ankle of the supporting foot, appears to be of the same derivation
Example sentence:
Another time.
Rules: Everyone should leave a post using the Word for the Day in one or more sentences.
The sentence(s) should, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

So sorry - didn't mean to bring up those memories.
Blue eyes? I have blue eyes.
LOL!
The ex-boyfriend of the female victim has just been arrested for among other things as a "person of interest"
Sheesh, I know, ti. I can't turn the news on unless Cyber is here. It scares the living beejeezus out of me.
That was four years ago. The pain has softened a lot.
Good grief! Make sure you keep Cyber walking in front of you. And behind you. You're welcome. :^)
perhaps if the MAss builders had frapped their steel bolts with more glue in those too-short holes, the woman killed by Kennedy-Kerry's Big Dig would be alive today.
These four illegal immigrants who murdered my BIL had beaten up three other men with blue eyes three nights in a row. They lived. The LEOs knew who they were the day before my BIL's murder. Not enough LEOs and too many illegal immigrants down thataway.
My sister is doing just fine. She's got her five grandchildren.
Oh, did your daughter get in okay?
I can't even watch scary movies by myself. I'm such a woose.
I'm still wondering about the contractors who built the tunnel. Were they friends/relatives of Kerry/Kennedy? There was a lot of pork going on then in MA.
Red Buttons.
Sad, he was a very funny man.
Yes she did. THE DAUGHTER IS IN THE HOUSE! She is up now getting a shower......she has a dental cleaning while home....then off for her to meet Miss Ava, then Ruby's for the salad bar.......it will be a busy day. She will ditch us for her two best friends from high school soon. One of them gets married tomorrow here, but we will have to be at the family wedding out of town. It will be hard to miss her friends wedding for all of us. Her friend was great with my mom while she was alive and lived with us. She could make my mom laugh.
Your mom lived with you?
You have brought back memories of years of ballet class, with the elder Russian maestro banging his walking stick on the floor, telling us "No, no, no! Like this!"
We're looking forward to the latest episode of Peyton Place on the lake.
Wow. Somebody has lots of extra time. Now I will have to go listen to some U2, when I would rather listen to Switchfoot.
She was in and out of hospice for the two years she lived here. Very depressed a lot of the time and quiet. The daugher's friend could make her laugh.....it was a welcome diversion for mom when she stopped by. They often got dressed for proms and dances here and picked up by their dates.....it was great entertainment for mom. She would smile the whole rest of the evening after watching the girls primp and prance around. Good memories.
(Argh reminds the dent that Slippy isn't usually wearing a tutu over her baseplate.)
(Robt seems suddenly much more distracted.)
I read where the U. S. Senate, that paragon of insensitivity, voted overwhelmingly (71-29) to frap the fence on the border by withholding funding. Methinks its time to frap the Senatorial enemies of border control.
