In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of the "Word for the Day".
frap [pronounced as spelled, verb, from Old French fraper to to strike or beat. Frapped, frapping, fraps. ]
a. STRIKE, BEAT
b. to draw tight: tighten with bonds (as a ship by passing cables around it: bid, draw together, or secure with ropes
A note:
frappé [pronounced fra-PAY] meaning iced or frozen, an iced drink or thick milk shake, or the ballet movement in which the free foot beats against the ankle of the supporting foot, appears to be of the same derivation
Example sentence:
Another time.
Rules: Everyone should leave a post using the Word for the Day in one or more sentences.
The sentence(s) should, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

Today's word suggested by Lone Palm, to "celebrate" Bastille Day: "a WFTD with French origins so that we may suitably mock the French? They are sulking over losing the WC and face another loss to an American in the TdF." (TdF = Tour de France) Great idea!

Present!! Merning Argh!
Good morning, all early risers. TGIF! That frappe looks good.
My road driving ideal is to have one of those large boxes of coffee that DD sells (10 cups or more), then dangle a plastic tube over the rear view mirror for constant IV drip - with a box of a dozen or so donuts on the passenger seat ...;)
Morning! I'm leaving early because I will be working where the traffic gets bad in the late afternoon, and I hope to avoid it-
The French are always whining
When things don't go their way-
A litany of imagined complaints
With nothing positive to say
They turn the least little pebble
Into a ton of boulders
Someone needs to frap them
About the head and shoulders
Take them to the woodshed
And teach them to be polite
And if the lesson is strong enough
Perhaps they'll get it right
My neighbor up the road showed me a shocking story in the local paper yesterday-I'll tell all after work today, but let it suffice to say that it involves several of our LEOs and some rather lewd, secret games that have become common knowledge.
The frogs should frap their brains a little harder and think about their allegiance to the USA.

Try pronouncing it like that here in New England, and we'll frappe your derriere.
The chef is here. Good eats for everyone.
This is what I get for reading mail before pings.
Garde la Foi, mes amis! Nous nous sommes les sauveurs de la République! Maintenant et Toujours!
(Keep the Faith, my friends! We are the saviors of the Republic! Now and Forever!)

HAPPY BASTILLE DAY!!!
Seems they (the French) should fill the Bastille with the criminals, starting with Chirac, and then bring on the National Razor.
why isn't PETA outraged over abuse of that poor dog!!!
Come here, Arghiest, I'd like to give you a little frappe alongst side of your head. LOL! Those Frogs can't do a thing correctly.
oooooh, can't wait to hear the dirt! i wonder if the kind of stuff you describe goes on in my neighborhood and i just don't know about it!
Bastile day?
Why not. It has been all downhill for le frogs since they chopped off King Louis head.
Good morning, Ms. Slip!
I have been racking my brain to come up with something for today's word, so far nothing.
How are you doing this day??
