Can someone throw a bucket of water on Shepard Smith? His hair is on fire.

Shepard Smith just referred to the current situation in the Middle East as a set of dominoes. He also implied America can't respond because we are "spread out" all over the globe.
He is about as frantic as any woman I've ever seen.
He used the image of an "ink blotter" being knocked over by Iran...
Look, I like FNC, and I watch them because their reporters are pretty good--but the fearmongering by SS is a bit over the top.
Maybe I'm just gettin' too old to be fretting about it, and I certainly don't want to make light of the situation. But seeing a freaked out anchor is a bit irritating, and doesn't add to the information or education about the news.

Well, since I still have the suit on, here goes:
governleastgovernbest bashed Katie Couric for about a year.
He bashed and we all bashed Perky Katie. That thread had a couple hundred posts every morning. My own contribution was my sister's observation, The Shoe Model.
GLGB tore Katie apart every single day, right up to the day she got her 20 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT.
The very next day, GLGB started in on Charlie Gibson. OK, it was probably two days later, but the bashing only took a few weeks and several thousand FReeper replies and SURPRISE!
Charlie got the big anchor job at ABC News.
In April, GLGB started bashing Matt Lauer. I wonder what's up with Metro Matt.
My point is that all the criticism on this thread is basically the same, but you realize that it does make a difference. Many posters here hammered away at Julian Phillips until he was gone. I happen to agree with that call. Shep is different in that he is quirky and refreshing. He also knows what he's doing, he can be thoroughly professional or very witty. I guess the word is versatile. I really believed that he would beat out KC for the CBS job.
Please give the Katrina thing a rest. Shep is a Mississippi boy, and I bet that he was affected on a personal level. The preference issue is another thing...who knows because he keeps his business and his opinions to himself.
If all this Shep bashing works, I'd bet my eye teeth that he ends up with a big fat contract at either MSNBC or again, CBS because Perky won't last and they'll be scrambling for something different. Shep is different and he is original.
I don't know the man, not in a fan club, I am just someone who found a nightly news program that I can enjoy. I slog through all the bad news and hang on for the G block, just to get a giggle at the end of the day. That's all. Except I don't do the pigpile game, and I stand up for things I believe in. Flame away!

Don't pay that much attention to Shep when he gets excited. He tends to be such a drama queen. I happen to like his show, and enjoy his humor and feigned speechlesness, but he's no stranger to pitching a hissy fit here and there.

Wow. Shemp looks princessier than Michael Jackson. And Uberwoman (that's Oberman in the middle, right?) looks like he finally found the right NJ Turnpike bathroom (reference to Gov. McGreavey.)

It's true! He's a total drama queen's drama queen (great line!!!)
Remember him when he completely lost it over Katrina when he was down there? He was just off the charts and completely overwrought (I don't believe we saw him again on camera for another three weeks after that.) He had to take a MASSIVE chill pill.
I must admit though when he isn't showing some of his uninformed liberal tendencies he can be a very cool anchor. I like him even though he annoys me at times. He is very distinct.

Me too!! I stopped watching him after Katrina

Add me to your "I hate Shepherd Smith" *ping* list....
If Shepherd grew his hair out, along with a bushy moustache, one would be hard pressed to tell him apart from Geraldo...
Now there's a pair to draw to...

I quit watching the light weight long ago. Got tired of his rah rah sophomoric style.

Does anyone here know where the Shep Smith is gay rumors were started ?
By an ultra leftie loon columnist who also accused several senators and congressmen of being in the closet.
Kevin Naff of the Washington (GAY) Blade
Shep's a divorced guy who 'allegedly' got a little too frisky with girls in different ports during his marriage and that ended it.
I'm sick of gays always trying to make everyone else gay.
I work with plenty of gay men in the fashion biz in NYC and none of them have heard any gossip about Shep in the city.
So please don't play into the gayification of America.
To: Recovering_Democrat
Shep's an obnoxious girly man. His most disgusting performance was during Katrina in NO when he stood on the bridge nearly crying. Why, oh why, did Fox get rid of Laurie Dhue and keep that guy? I'd much rather look at and listen to her for an hour than him.
