The Dragonflies Lair~Thread XXIX
The Muse and Poets of the Lair | July 12, 2006 | bentfeather

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Maybe we need and old fashion rain dance?

Your muse is taking a little rest
your grapes are being put to the test
year after year you till the soil
tie the vines, and pray for rain

Patience is a virtue sure for
growing crops of grapes each year.

Whooo, hoooo!! Howdy ya'll!

Well, good news, I bought one of those little disposable cameras for around $10, and also found out that they can develop them right onto CDs for you! Now I have the first roll on CD and can copy it right onto a computer and post them in the Lair!

The only hang up now is that this Internet cafe has pretty crappy computers, so I must look for a better one, then I can start rationing out the photos! (don't want to post them all at once, now do we!)

Some are pretty darn snappy, but those disposable cameras are erratic, some are quite clear, and others are too grainy. Still, all in all, great fun for $10.

I'm also thinking of starting another picture theme. Here in Thailand there are many European restaurants of excellent quality, yet the prices still are in line with the Thai economy (which is still developing) so you can get these sumptuous meals for like 7 or 8 bucks! So don't hate me if I post them, but I was thinking I'd post a series called "Meals Eaten By starbase!" and take pictures of the spreads before I eat them!

Wouldn't that be funny!? So I'll drop in over then next few days and post some of these pictures that I have already.

Cheers and everyone in the Lair take care (don't sit near anyone with a sports drink if you go flying!)

WOO HOO!

Howdy to you!

Great theme you have regarding the meal theme. That will be great fun!

I have found that Kodak Camera is the best picture quality -I have used them a lot. The CDs are great. If you need online storage space let me know. I can set a folder up for you.

I think I am done flying for this year! :) Glad I went when I did.

Cheers

comply with other parole requirements.

Also in 1999, the Kansas State Board of Education

public school curriculum.

In 2002, US Airways, the nation's sixth-largest

I will be in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia the last 2 weeks of September, and I can't wait to hit my favorite outdoor restaurant. It is owned by a guy from India, and there are
tandoor ovens to cook naan. A filet mignon dinner with baked potato, salad, and unlimited Indian bread costs $4.75 !

Mornin' Feather.

My wife and I are celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary tonight (the actual date was the 9th).

I was reading over 1 Corinthians chapter 13 (the love chapter) when I decided to type it out in a little more modern version. After getting a little ways into it, I decided that you can't really improve upon Biblical perfection. However, I was struck with an idea so I wrote it down.

(I hope that no one is offended by my use of the Bible and my own lousy poetry.)

Though I speak with the eloquence of poets and angels,
But have no love,
I am as a clanging cow bell or nails on a chalkboard.

If I could predict the future,
And could understand all mysteries, and be all knowledgeable,
But have no love,
My existence would be worthless.

If I gave all that I possess to feed the poor,
and martyred myself to be burned at the stake,
but have no love,
I gain nothing.

However…

When I know love,
I may be in a traffic jam with all the city noises
And stupid ads blaring on the radio,
But my life can be filled melody.

When I know love,
I may lose every card game I play
And fail every test I take,
But my life can be more precious than gold.

When I know love,
I can be penniless and staving,
Or tortured to death,
But I will know what true wealth is.

Happy Happy Anniversary!

I am not offended by your verse but have enjoyed it very much.

I have posted the verse you cite as the spring board for your verse.

1 Corinthians chapter 13

King James Version.

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

I think you did very well. What say we put this in the Selected Works Anthology I am creating?? I will not post any poets work without their permission.

Golden Oldie

Summer of tears

a waterfall horizon

a copper dawn in vapor

touching rosebushes at daylight.

In the marrow of my bones

you are my love and desire

I am missing your soul

and soft guitars...

One day in the life of Ivan Ostrich: A sad-looking inmate chews grass behind a fence at an ostrich-breeding farm in Toropovo, Russia. The birds are raised for meat and eggs.

Look at that face! LOL!
