Sara Teasdale
(1884-1933)
"Did You Never Know?"
by Sara Teasdale
Did you never know, long ago, how much you loved me --
That your love would never lessen and never go?
You were young then, proud and fresh-hearted,
You were too young to know.
Fate is a wind, and red leaves fly before it
Far apart, far away in the gusty time of year --
Seldom we meet now, but when I hear you speaking,
I know your secret, my dear, my dear.
"It Will Not Change"
by Sara Teasdale
It will not change now
After so many years;
Life has not broken it
With parting or tears;
Death will not alter it,
It will live on
In all my songs for you
When I am gone.

Good morning! Great photo of my favorite vacation spot.
That is beautiful, thank you.
This is the first time I actually read something from her.
Oh my, gorgeous Iris, one of my favourite flowers.
Sarah is a Romantic Poet whom I dearly love. I'm glad you enjoy her work.
It's a busy week all week. I'll be in and out for various meetings. Getting ready for art classes starting in fall & projects for the Lions Club which also starts up again this fall. Summer isn't as long as they say it is, with August being busy.
Ah, busy is good, yes?? Keeps your creative juices flowing.
It's got my creative snoring going. On my way out again, don't know how long, but hope it's fast.

Pondering Precipitation
Soft, soft
the rain drops leap from the eve gutter by the loft
falling to a watery commune around the flowers there
lit by the porch light like falling stars without care
Whisper they do
of other days and places theyve been new
as they rush on away from me so snug and warm
temperate tourists so fickle as they flow away in a swarm
Like a dewdrop drum roll
they play their own version of the blues with soul
and carry off my daydreams in liquid grace
to some other distant, wet, and wonderful place
Pondering Precipitation
Oh WOW, this is great! Well done, well done!!
