My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Enticed, Entranced, Entangled
Oh sweet the sound of her voice now
whispering like a summers zephyr breeze
those things only we will hear or know
those memories we will make in duet
Her eyes hide behind a shifting curtain
softly swirling sonata to love so sweet
capturing me in her eyes as deep as her soul
as she teases me from behind her hair
Things have their own sort of unique Tao
and so they have power to release or seize
our hearts and minds and through them flow
leaving shadows of things so softly set
Of this one point I am truly certain
that in this life so enigmatic and fleet
we have a chance to be as one, finally whole
for we are given the gift of each other fair

Alluring. Very nice poem.

A Golden Oldie....
Dancing before eyes
"Dancing before eyes
it is not of my understanding
to be aware of my
nakedness or warts...
I dance before
loving eyes
of acceptance....

Written on another thread this morning.
Tundra soft, safe and sound
for the caribou prancing round
other critters living like kings
on the soft land near the springs
Drive for oil USA, drive OPEC far away
into their deserted desert sands
let their Beamers stall in dust
their Mercedes stand there and rust
Their lust for lush carpeted tents blown away
as we drill in ANWAR, it's our day!
Dusty Couscous is not my thing
I like pizza steaming hot
delivered in a limo that's not
an oil rig here and there
would not ruin my view
pumping black gold is in review.

May the arms of Jesus open wide
to bring you into heaven's gate
sister-in-law you'll be missed,
when you see my brother give
him a kiss, for he left us way
to soon, not my will, but Gods.
So now the two of you reside in
the clouds, look at the stars
and will love one another forever more.

Hi Lairites! starbase here checking in from Bangkok. Had a close call on a flight to the north today. After a seemingly trouble free take off we were up about 10 minutes and then just turned around and landed again in Bangkok.
Pretty weird, they said there was mechanical failure with the plane. It's one of these little carriers with some old planes. Me and a French guy joked that "at least we weren't dead", even though it was weird picking up all our luggage in the same airport we just departed (and trashing everyone's travel plans in the process!)
So I came back to Bangkok, the Internet cafe is pretty empty, so I thought I'd do a little posting. So if I never return at some point, just assume a plane crashed, a bomb went off, I was a victim of an accidental shooting (happened to an Australian girl not long ago), (fill in tragedy here).
Otherwise I'm not sure I'll do the picture update thing, even though it would be fun. But the cheapest digital camera I've seen is like $250.00. Hard to justify buying it just for some conversation starters! So maybe no pictures. Then again, perhaps I could scan some from one of those little $5 disposables, hmmmmmm.
Love all the crackling wit going on here in the Lair. Loads of talented poets sharing excellent pieces. And I also like the anthology idea. Bentfeather, let me know what kind of clerical work you could use for that effort (like reading over old threads) that might be right up my alley in my life here of scholarly pursuits!
Well, check in again later (if I'm not dead, that is!!!!!).
cheers,
starbase
