Can't blame either goal keeper on any of the PKs, aside from the one that hit the crossbar, neither had a chance at any attempt.

Bah. No joy here. Lesser of evils. I hate all these diving, cheating teams. And what a ridiculous way to decide a championship.
There are some very good reasons soccer is not a popular spectator sport in the U.S. and this World Cup showcased them all.

Yep, Germany put on a good show, both in hosting and on the field.

Guess Italy can handle the penalties okay with no help. Five for five. Perfect.

Riot gear? The Muslims burned most of the cars several months ago.

It could be argued that he cost them the game, but he did score their goal early on. It's safe to say that his antics sure as hell didn't help his team.

I think the Germans are the real winner in all this...
Remember that stadium we built in Berlin? Just wait 65 years or so and they'll get humiliated again."
To: RodgerD
You're right. They protest and demonstrate at the drop of a chapeau. Thank goodness the WC was in Berlin...

I think it's a great way to decide a championship. What would you prefer, an arm wrestling match? Rock-papers-scissors?
They had 120 minutes to decide the match. It was still tied. The shootout is great drama.

"Zidane to the guillotine."
In the good old days of "Ze Revoluton", he would.
One can imagine old Robespierre, letting down "ze guillotine" himself.
