I am no fan of corrupt businessmen and politicians, but I think we should cut Lay some slack. Why? He served our country.
If serving the country shields Kerry and Murtha from attacks, the same should apply with Lay.
TOPICS: Business/Economy; Military/Veterans
KEYWORDS: enron; kenlay; lay; navy

A lot of criminals served in the Armed Forces. Big deal. He was a loser. period.

    Benedict Arnold also served.
And just because the Democrats are hypocritical, lying obnoxious pigs, you are suggesting that we should be also?

Well, one could still honorably cut him some slack even in that: let his "loser" be written with a regular "l", not the capital one. And who would now dare to claim that no consideration is being shown?

Hey... Hey... I am not defending him. I am using the Democrats' tactics against them.

Wait till they will claim Bush killed Lay...

I am not defending him. I am using the Democrats' tactics against them. By suggesting we not attack him, you are, in effect defending him. Besides, this is not a republican vs. Democrats issue. We should all be pointing out how Bill Clinton helped Ken Lay and Enron and Bush refused to do so as President.

McVeigh was a soldier, too. Even among our best there's a bad apple in there occasionally.

Maybe our resident grammerians can set me straight on this, but isn't the past tense of "lay", "lie"?
