I think the problem is first, RVD was the standard bearer for the company-- he needed to handle himself better.
Second, the vicodin is important because wrestlers have been dropping like flies and they're trying to address that.
If the WWE found a way to cut down on their hellacious travel schedule, they'd really get to the heart of the painkiller problem, I think... But I wonder how they can.

I'm sure he does, whch sucks, because the first reports were that Vinnie Mac was going to let Heyman and Tomy Dreamer have pretty much free reign, with Vince having ultimate veto power. However, that turned out to not be true. Considering the hatred Steph has for Paul E., I'm not surprised. If Paul E. ever goes to TNA, that would be excellent. THe smartest thing Vice can do is just get out of the way. Some of Paul's earlier angles were very controversial, and not bad. I could've done without the whole Beulah/Kimona/Tommy Dreamer angle, but that whole thing with Raven, Sandman and Sandman's son was really well done.

that whole thing with Raven, Sandman and Sandman's son was really well done. It was done so well that McMahon stole it outright (Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and his son Damien), but Vince's version only ticked off the fans who considered both men to be faces.
How unfortunate that an industry possessing so many devoted fans is largely in the hands of a megalomaniacal creep who has no respect for the athletic aspects of his cash cow. That the fans continue watching and attending DESPITE being subjected to his endless stream of "creativity" (focused mainly on posteriors and bathroom functions) is quite remarkable.

I think Vince actually hates the business & in some twisted way is bent on destroying it. He knows it's not what we want, but it's just about the only show in town. There's no competition anymore. That just about lets him do whatever he wants. He knows we don't want "diva searches" or an aging Torrie Wilson with a bottle of mustard or Candice Michelle & her worn out act.He knows most of hate his "club". But he also knows there are a lot of us who love wrestling so much that we're willing to take the few decent scraps he throws at us.
The guys don't have any real leverage like they used to. It might encourage a few of the prima donnas but I don't think it's good for the business as a whole. If they're not happy about all they can do is go to TNA. But it looks like Jarrett has a death grip on that belt everytime I've checked it out. I'm not sure that promotion is any better.

LOL. I didn't know wrestling fans were so thin-skinned.
My advice: Take a long drag on a good doobie or blow it out yer ear.

I can't even tell you the last time I watched pro-fake-wrestling. It's probably well before the last time YOU watched it. What I was commenting on is that you can ALWAYS count on someone of YOUR ILK to come by and paint with a broad brush. I'm sure it goes over well in your echo chamber, but it doesn't fly with the rest of the world.

Ohhhhhhhh. So you're beef is against people who make broad brush blanket statements.
Sounds like a personal problem to me.

Well as you've been identified as one who makes such statements, the problem is yours, not mine.

You're exactly right - Vince is a silver spooner who (not so) secretly despises the legacy his father left him. Your mention of the "divas" illustrates that well: when Vince almost killed it off by firing most of the talented women wrestlers for vapid eye-candy he lost interest and turned it over to Stephanie. She brilliantly hired Dean Malenko and later, Fit Finlay, to turn the airheads into athletic actors able to successfully pull off the illusion (remember Lita doing a moonsault onto the edge of the announcer's table neck-first?).
The resulting quarter-hour ratings bump up from the better matches brought this back to Vince's attention...and he promptly put Dave Finlay back on the active roster (Yeah!) but left the women without any knowledgeable veterans guarding their interests or safety. Bottom line - some lady's going to get crippled and V.K. McMahon will be directly responsible.

FYI: Reports are out saying Justin Credible and the Sandman were pulled over inthe same area as well, it's apparently a known speed trap.
